Topic: Let's fine the deadbeats who don't have Health Insurance | |

I'd like to see how many Politicians would cut their own throats by passing a Law that would lead to fines against anyone who doesn't have health insurance. Or, do you believe Americans are so complacent they would just accept it as just another buden and pay the fines? Massachusetts did it and people did not freak out. In April 2006, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney signed into law a broad new program requiring all citizens to obtain health insurance. The Massachusetts House and Senate both strongly approved this ground-breaking legislation on a bipartisan basis. The program's aim is to cover 95% of the state's 500,000 uninsured within three years. So does this mean Mitt Romney is a socialist, communist, fascist, racist dictator? ![]() What is the penalty for not being covered? |

Go Taxachuesettes! Can't remember the specifics though. But this is why i'm glad states are trying to do something instead of the federal government. Healthcare and education, and welfare aren't "one size fits all" issues, and as a result should never be any of the federal government's business IMO. Side note: Never was a fan of Romney... |
