This question was brought about by something I saw in the forums earlier today.
What if, sometime in the near future, a bunch of scientists proclaimed that they had undisputed proof of life on other planets or other solar systems? Would religions incorporate the new life form into the " God made all things under heaven and earth " premise? Would religions have to go through fundamental changes to accept an alien life form?? From my experiences, the religions I have been exposed to say that we, as humans, are unique creatures and that we are the only people that God made. I am curious to see what others have to say about this idea. |

I think they have always been there..and if there is ever any "proof" it will blow people's minds..and I also think it's silly to believe were the only ones.

I will add a bit of a disclaimer here before people think I am just trying to bait others.
I do believe in God. But I also think there are other forms of life in the Universe. I am not taking any particular " side " in asking this question. I'm just the curious type.

I suppose they would have to re think a few ideas now wouldn't they? |

There probably is proof. However the powers that be dont think that we as a society can handle the unknown. Of course, religion, just like most things is perceived differently by everyone. If it ever came out that we are not alone then all of a sudden there would be proof found in the bible that God made them too.

During my child's religion class, a boy asked the teacher about when dinosaurs were here. The teacher said, "I'm not sure. I really don't believe in dinosaurs. I think God put their bones here to confuse us." That teacher has said enough bizarre things to make a thread about her. I lost my voice while I've been sick. As soon as I get it back, the principal will be hearing from me.

Religion tells us that everything is from God so it does not matter where this life is . I think everyone should realize by now that religion is a man made aspect and discussing it is just a waste of time .
