I didnt realize that hidden video thing was done in several cities and caught them all trying to defraud the system. I thought it was only one

ACORN has an established history of a pattern of fraud and abuse

it's not like one or two isolated incidents but twenty years of indictments and arrests in almost every state in America

maybe they do some good too but there is just too much smoke for there not to be a fire

I didn't hear that is was all the offices, but then I have not been following it and I am not in the position to see what's going on first hand. It was done in several cities but it was not clear every office engaged in similar practices. In fact considering who did the investigating I would be just a bit suspicious if they found every office was doing it.

Of course if it was happening in every state in america then of course it should be dealt with. Where did you get your info from Quite? Just curious.

Come on. Here is the list of cities ( so far ) that ACORN workers have been busted in.

D.C.
Baltimore
New York
San Bernardino
San Diego

L.A and Chicago are still yet to be released, but they were busted as well.

I really don't care if this deal " brings down Obama " or not. The fact that all of those offices have had similar things happen within their walls shows, at the very least, that ACORN doesn't do anything at all to check out the people that work for them.

If ACORN loses it's government funding over this...well, maybe they should have been more careful about who they were allowing to be involved.

I mean, seriously, do you want your tax dollars going to an organization that allows a man who " has connections in Tiajuana " to help a " pimp " who wants to bring 13 - 15 year old girls across the border illegally to work in a brothel??

For me, this has absolutely nothing to do with Obama.

By the way. What does " who is doing the investigating " have to do with it? The fact is that the guy went in with a hidden camera, and ACORN workers have been busted. They suggested ways to, at minimum, skirt the very edges of the law and, at worst, flat out BREAK the laws of this country.

It doesn't matter who went in there.

While I agree with you that what the did was despicable and I definitely want it investigated, don't pretend that Willings multiple posts are just asking for investigation and nothing more. It's about Obama. Come on we're not stupid. I knew little about this organization until all the hoopla of the McCain Palin campaign and the elections. And them trying to tie Obama to it.

I said nothing that would indicate that I would not want this investigated or that it did not concern me. When someone fills their profile album with divisive caricatures of the president and posts multiple thread slamming Acorn it's not just about justice.

As I said...I, personally, don't give a damn about whether or not this takes down Obama. If it does, it does. I don't think he had as " huge " a connection as some want us to think.

All I know is that, regardless of the " good things " ( as Winx points out often ) ACORN has done in certain communities, the fact that these people were allowed by that organization to work for them, seemingly without any kind of vetting or supervision, shows a lack of sense ( at least ) or a level of corruption that cannot be allowed to just get a pass.

The other poster, who is fond of the caricatures, has no bearing on my posts or my personal feelings. I simply do not want my tax dollars going to an organization that, by at least one set of accounts, is almost completely corrupt.

ACORN may very well have some really great people working for it. Guess what. I don't care. Until they can show me that every, single corrupt person in their organization is 100% gone, and there is no chance of this level of corruption showing up again...I don't want them getting one dime of my tax money.

I agree with most of your points, where I disagree is that I do give a damn if many people suffer for what a few do. And I do care whether people show respect. Doesn't mean that they will honor that. But I am free to say so.

Not sure there is such a thing as 100% satisfaction that the problems are gone unfortunately.

As for caracatures, they don't have to have any bearing on my personal feelings about any topic, But, out of sight out of mind Works when it's deliberate and annoying. winking

Well..the way I see it...any money that ACORN loses due to corruption can be very well used by any number of other charities or community organizations.

If ACORN goes down, there will be at least a dozen other groups that do basically the same things stepping up to take the money our government would have given to ACORN.

No one needs to suffer anything.

Keep in ind...the caricatures are only there to get a rise out of folks that allow themselves to be offended by them.

well I would hope no one would suffer from it.

I know that the caricatures are to get a rise. I am not quite as perfect at handling it as you might be. Though I missed images so bad it didn't last long, it was too frustrating trying to guess what people were posting as photos in the thread. LOL when I turned images back on Willing had Jimmy Durante (sp?) as his photo, one of my favorite people in the whole world. He also reminds me of my grandfather, whom I loved very much, we called him grandpa with the Hat. It's funny how one small gesture can change ones experience. I am pretty good at handling most things, but there is always something that remains difficult.

Over the last twenty or so years little cancers have show in up but the main stream news media chose to ignore them. Just like when Charlie Gibson was ask about the four or five cities where ACORN people were recorded giving advice on how to break the low, he said he didn’t know any thing about it. When little cancers are left to grow the whole body become infected and is beyond help.
