Topic: One down, all but too many to go... | |

Just heard about this today.
http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9AL630G0.htm The Boeing plant in Charleston, SC voted 199-68 to reject their union for representation. Big victory here for the people. When will everyone else realize how detrimental unions are to the marketplace and in many cases, their own careers? The more unions that fall, the better we'll all be. |

The cost of maintaining a Union for one.
History shows, Unions price workers out of jobs and makes outsourcing look a pretty good plan to get out from under them. |

It's my opinion only, that the unions only destroy America, by getting higher wages/benefits, that drive up the cost of the goods/service... that eventually forces the companies to fold...then what do the workers have...NOTHING! I've seen it happen too many times here in my hometown...unions come in, raise wages, product price increase to cover cost, price their selves right out of a job. It's no wonder Americans, are importing goods from other countries. Auto workers, reportedly raking in $75 hrs, for floor sweepers! Come on...what's wrong with that picture? Why can't these same people get real, and try to live on a sensible income(like most of the rest of us)? Then, if everyone had enough sense...maybe things, in turn...would start to drop prices, so we ALL could enjoy more of the fruits of our labor! I know...(putting on helmet now... ![]() I've yet had anyone explain to me HOW unions help the country, I feel as if it is really to "help themselves", no matter the cost! This is my opinion, and you have the rights to yours as well. ![]() |

That would be the same middle class that is finding itself homeless and in the streets.

When Unions first started, they were made up of everyday folks who weanted fair treatment. Now, they are as obsene and perverse as porn stars. |

Open you purse and support one or two down and out families in your city. |

Nobody calls it that though. lol It's still based in St. Louis and still has 48% of U.S. beer sales. It employees about 6,000 people. Twenty days after InBev took control, about 1,000 people lost their jobs there. |

I've volunteered at food pantries and more. I've done one person food drives and more. You don't know me and what I do. There are other unions - electrical, plumbing, heavy equipment operators, brick layers, grocery store employees, AT&T, etc. |

History shows the first thing Hitler did was go after and destroy the Labor Unions. Are you some type of Fascist? No, I voted for Ron Paul. The main reason for outsourcing is the cost of labor. Well if you want to eliminate Labor Unions, I believe that makes you a Fascist. That is exactly what Hitler did when he came to power in Germany. Study history. So the cost of labor is the reason for outsourcing? How about corporate greed? You see the conditions they have in Mexico. A worker there makes in a month, what you make in a day. Do you think it would be a good idea if the American workers made the same money that the Mexican worrkers do? Is that what you are saying? I am sure the corporate CEO's in the US would love to see that! ![]() |
