well so these neighbors across the street constantly let their dog out with out a leash and its free to run the streets and poop where it wants.now the dog almost got hit buy a car yesterday some person had to slam on his breaks.i did call animal control.but i dont want to see the dog get hurt.

so do i like take some video of the dog running around freely?there is a leash law here in Tennessee.i thought collection the poop and putting on there doorstep along with a note saying Tennessee has a leash law.but im not sure if there is anything else to be done besides calling animal control.

any ideas?

Maybe if you can get other neighbors to come together and write a joint letter to the person, they might realize that they need to abide by the law.

Call the dog over, put a leash on him and take him to the pound or call animal control.

Not if it's a dog on the loose and you take it to the pound or call animal control and have them take it there.

Time stamped pics and call the local PD if they handle animal control. I bet there is a poo poo collection law as well. A pic or two of the dog in question leaving an artistic statement on your yard should be worth a fine.

I'm just playing.Hey! U know what?In my town currently they charge the person to collect the animal regardless of whether U own it or not.That went in to effect 2 yrs.back.Yikes!

its like a 100 dollar fee but i think that if it goes to court or something!i dont think id be charged if i brought it to a no kill shelter i just dont want the poor thing to get hit!

Here, we call the cops for a stray dog. It gets taken to the humane society and fines are issued. I would tell the neighbors that I will call the police next time I see their dog off their property. It's not the dogs fault, it is the owners irresponsibility. jmo

when i called animal control they said theyd send an officer out but i dont know how long that can take so im gonna try and make sure they see me recording their dog.i dont want to see it hurt :(

Buy a BB gun hide in the bushes and when your neighbor lets the dog out shoot your neighbor with it. I'm kinda dissapointed in you, the things you like and you haven't thought of that

In Az it is against the law and you can call the police. The neighbor would be issued a ticket and have to go to court. The police would most likely let the people keep the dog as long as they agreed to keep it inside or on a leash.
Call you local police or look up your dog laws on the internet.

I was cited for letting my cactus grow too high in the ally, it cost be 480.00. Ok a dog is so much important than overgrown cactus. People tend to snap to attention when the authorities are involved.

I don't know. Talk to the police, maybe you can file a report or something. They might be able to help you out.

Are they intentionally letting their dog run free, or are they doin anything about the dog?

It may be a good idea to get some video, just in case.
