nope
but ACORN does have a twenty or thirty year history of doing this stuff repeatedly

living in New Mexico for the last 15 years or so we have been hearing of this stuff in news in the papers and on TV for years and years

it seems to be their modus operandi (that's latin for all you GED'ers)

laugh
I have to take you at your word on that I had not heard of Acorn until Obama.

It this the same thing posted by Arizona? I can't play the videos on my computer for some reason so I cannot watch them.

I've been aware of their St. Louis doings for awhile. Over the years, they've turned over vacant houses to low income people here. They helped make it where companies had to clean-up their toxic chemicals and dumping practices. They started programs that got developers to hire unemployed people. They got police to respond better to rapes in low income neighborhoods and started rape prevention programs. And more.

So, you'd overlook the Illegal activity just because they have benefited St. Louis??

In that case, what would be so wrong with allowing a known but, not convicted pedophile opening some low-income daycares in St. Louis and forget he's a criminal?

When did I say that I overlooked their illegal activity?huh I said on this thread that I didn't condone it. I think the people that did wrong should be punished.

Bad analogy, IMO, btw - pedophile.

Why is that a bad analogy?

The ACORN Reps were advising on how to hide child prostitutes?? Sounds like condoning Pedophilia to me.

She never said that anyway. She said a few bad apples don't rotten the bunch. Hell, the video only shows one bad apple, right?

Just because one person would assist someone in illegal activities does not mean that the whole organization does it, nor does it make the whole organization a bad one.

Just the tip of the iceberg.
The whole organization needs investigated.

the prpblem is that this stuff pops up year after year after year in all the states where ACORN is active.

it seems to be the trend more than the exception

let's apply Occam's Razor to this hypothesis. You say that this "couple" just happened to find the ONE corrupt ACORN volunteer/worker who just happened to specialize in tax preparation. Further, that assertion would suggest that her creativity and knowledge with respect to tax law, prositution, human-trafficking etc was simply off-the-cuff, ad-hoc.

The woman referred to as Shira seemed to be very confident that the tax consultant was "real good". This would seem to indicate that she's well versed in and carries much experience in gaming the tax code..

This Community Organization seemed in no way concerned that this Pimp and Prostitute were anxious to set up a brothel in their "community". In fact, they were willing to assist them in breaking any munber of local, state and federal laws in setting up their "housing". there was little or no hesitation in the ACORN employees in knowing exactly what to do or how to approach the "problem" of someone trying to set up and illegal prostitution and human trafficking ring in their neighborhood..

So is it more reasonable or likely that this is an isolated incident, a statistical outlier? or is it more reasonable to suspect that this ACORN office is accustomed to dealing with people in this manner; teaching them how to cheat the tax code, illegally claim dependents, turn a blind-eye to felonious illegal activity?

Is that how they serve their community? by condoning the importation of underage sex-slaves? helping pimps establish brothels on their streets? by condoning prostitution?

Seems that's the kind of service my community could do without..

Occums Razor, the simplest deduction is probably the correct one. So that makes your analogy right?

The simplest explanation that there is only one wrong doer is more simple than the whole slew of them who have never been caught before now.

so the fact that this organization is under investigation in some two dozen or more states for voter registration fraud is also some statistical anomaly?

One is an incident. Two is coincidence. Three is a trend.

Throughout the election season, supporters of Republican candidates portrayed ACORN's submission of invalid voter registration applications as widespread vote fraud. In October 2008, the campaign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain released a Web-based advertisement claiming ACORN was responsible for "massive voter fraud", a point that Sen. McCain repeated in the final presidential debate. Factcheck.org called this claim "breathtakingly inaccurate". The ads also claimed that home loan programs ACORN promoted were partly responsible for the sub-prime mortgage crisis.

Newsweek and Factcheck.org also found these claims to be exaggerated and inaccurate.

ACORN Workers Arrested In Fla.
View Discussion Last Updated: Wed, 09/09/2009 - 3:15pm
In the latest of numerous criminal investigations involving a publicly financed leftist group that conducts fraudulent voter registration drives, warrants have been issued in Florida for the arrest of nearly a dozen workers who falsified information during the 2008 presidential election.

Miami-Dade County prosecutors say the employees of the Chicago-based community group with strong ties to Barack Obama, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), falsified hundreds of voter registration cards before last year’s presidential election. So far six of the ACORN canvassers have been arrested and five others are on the run.

More than half of the 1,400 new voter registration cards submitted by the group were fraudulent, according to officials, who disclosed that forms contained the names of well-known actors and singers who didn’t live in the area. After noticing numerous discrepancies on cards from one concentrated area, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement reviewed the data and found that 888 contained “registrant information that was not able to be matched to a living person.”

This simply marks the latest of a growing number of criminal probes into ACORN’s shady operation to recruit new voters in low-income, “underserved” communities. Just last month a high-ranking ACRON official pleaded guilty to conspiracy for organizing a scheme in Nevada that illegally paid workers—many of them “lazy crack heads”—to register new voters.

For its corrupt 2008 drives alone, ACORN faces criminal charges in New Mexico, Pennsylvania and now Florida. In previous elections, ACORN has been busted for falsifying information to register new voters in numerous other states, including Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio, North Carolina and Colorado to name a few. In 2007 the group settled the largest case of voter fraud in the history of Washington State after seven workers were caught submitting about 2,000 fake registration forms.

ACORN’s well documented history of fraud led to an overdue congressional investigation that determined the so-called community group is a criminal enterprise. The probe revealed that ACORN has repeatedly and deliberately engaged in systematic fraud and that it hides behind a paper wall of nonprofit corporate protections to conceal a criminal conspiracy on the part of its directors, to launder federal money in order to pursue a partisan political agenda and to manipulate the American electorate.

It hasn’t stopped the tax dollars from flowing into its coffers, however. In fact, the radical leftist organization with offices nationwide recently got a multi billion-dollar infusion for “neighborhood stabilization activities” from Obama’s monstrous economic recovery bill that was supposed to create jobs and stimulate the ailing economy.
