why not start a new tradition and make up your own last name?
|
|
|
|
Well minus my father, I really have researched my family background. My
mothers side is quite interesting. That side was very hard working, trusting, and chariatable. The name is known for that. My fathers side is....well, like I said my mom remarried and my step dad's side is my family now. But even still I want the name derived from my husband's side because I do like the tradition...but I dont really want to just make up a name either. I do like history. I do like Chris' last name but he has his reasons why he doesnt want his. |

i just think chris probabaly has worked so hard at making his name a
good one..... why give that up? that should say something about his name right there... for its much harder to build a name... and easy to throw away one... there should be meaning in all his work he has done to better hisself and to survive whatever he has gone throuh..should be no shame in that.. chris you should be proud.. for you seem to be a grand person! and your name is a part of you |

Friends of mine had a similar situation and they applied for a new last
name, just picked one they liked. Everyone was happy, the only thing confused was the mailman LOL |

True buttons, it seems one idiot can tarnish a name and it takes
hundreds to bring pride back to the name. But Chris is a great man, and should be very proud of himself. & I'll love him no matter what! Even if his name was Mr. Barfpimple |

i kept my last married name... for the purposes of not having to deal
with name changes in my id again.... but the only meaning behind my name is that i like the sounds of it... really thats not a meaning... i get compliments on my last name all the time lol... from women mostly lol... i wont put it in the room but i will sound it out here.... Hug-it |

Hey my cousin's name is Apple and her husbans last name is coffee...For
obvious reasons she didn't want to take her husbands last name so she just kept her own...They were both fine with it...These days it doesn't really make a difference...Hyphenation is always an option too!!!!!!!!! |

I kept my married/divorced last name too because I didn't want my kids
to have a different last name....Knowing my kids I would have never heard the end of the questions asking why!!!!!!! |
|
|
|
My kid is already going to ask "Why"
I had been engaged...grrrr, and I gave my son his father's name with the intention my name would also be the same. But his dad is.....well to say nicely....not around or really involved. So I was hoping to give my son my name. It would be really helpfull when going to the hospital. Record automatically assume we have the same last name and things get messed up rather easily |
