Three times I have been contacted by men on yahoo messenger who claim to have gotten my email address at Mingles2. They say it was in my profile next to my pic. I dont see it anywhere! I do not know how this happens since someone has to send an invitation and I have to accept it in order to chat on messenger. But these men just show up there. Does anyone have an answer for me?

if your profile name here is the same yahoo addy...then they guessed right. Mingle doesn't give out that info

It has happened to me too. I've had at least 8 try to im me asking me to add them. For 2 of them I asked them who they were. They said they were from mingle. I asked for their username and they said they just joined. I checked both of them and the accounts were deactivated.

They are obviously scammers. I called them on it and they didn't have an answer. the BLOCK button works very well.

Beware of scammers who say they are in the UK working on a contract. Two men have contacted me and said the same thing. Running a check on their IP address showed the emails originated from Nigeria!!!

Anyone who wants to meet you on mingle will meet you on mingle. I constantly have (girls) that try to meet me offsite, like on yahoo, with the typical "webcam" deal. I just ignor them. I advertize my personal webpage but it's a big part of my life so I see no harm in it, but someone saying "check out my profile on ...." or "what's your email" or "are you on MSN" and that kind of crap goes straight on the ignor list.

Well said, Geckgo.

As for the scraping (where others deduce your email from a user name), it's a common approach used by scammers. Like yellowrose10 notes, we do not give out emails to anybody.
