I nervous smoke, and i also smoke around friends who smoke and if i drink a lot. But i dont feel the addiction like addicted smokers do. That need to have a smoke everyday. Actually, i hate the smell of smoke on myself if im not constantly around it. That is occasional smoking. so it is my occasional drinking maybe 1 a month on rare occasions 2 times If you only drink once or twice a month then you drink occasionally. I look at frequently as more than 4 times a month.

This is cali that dont fly here so can we think of another reason? What does California have to do with anything? I don't have to think of another reason, that's what it means. i am in cali and it is cali people and if i want to smoke while i drink i have to do it at home or in mexico I live in SoCal. I occasionally smoke when I drink... at bars, outside in their smoking areas. What princess said. If you don't like smokers, don't meet them. There are even some bars that let us smoke in them... Mail me some names please cause i am tired of the place i have to go and when i come back in from smoking everyone gives me a hard time edit forgot to say Please They can smell the smoke on your clothes when you return from a smoke break. Non-smokers love to pounce on smokers.

I would actually like it better if they just put a " Rarely " option in the settings.

That answer would be rarely, i only drink rarely. But mingle does think that is an acceptable answer apparently.

I think the other choice was 'frequently' which makes it sound like it's every time you put one out your light another... Occasionally is what mine says and I think she summed up the reason quite well

My profile says "occasionally" because if some man would like to take me to Disneyland and The LaBrea Tar Pits he needs to know that maybe twice that day I might want to go hunker down in a ditch somewhere and smoke part of a cigarette. Then I'll chew up some Dentyne. No biggy.

Mine says 'often' Cuz I smoke about a pack+ a day. I knew a gal from this site who posted in her profile that she was an occasional drinker. Every day was an occasion for her.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em! At least you're cowing to them to SOME extent by stepping outside (which always led me to wonder, why do smokers have to step outside? Why can't the NON-smokers step out instead? What makes them better than a smoker?). If they give you any ** about it, tell 'em to go f* themselves. What's the worst they can do? Slap you and take away your birthday? Besides, you're in southern California. All the friggin' pollution down there, and they're worried about somebody lighting up a smoke?? Gimme a break.

I smoke occasionally ....when I have friends over and a few wines and the guitars and drums are out... I smoke when my friends who smoke are over, chatting and carrying on with their mini dramas.. I smoke after major traumatic events. The rest of the time I dont. And I couldn't give a flying fart if you are from siberia or outer mongolia....where I am, Australia....we eat whiners like you for smoko....(morning tea)

Smokers step outside because the smell from cigarette smoke settles into fabrics, walls, everything and then takes on a stale weird smell later. It's general courtesy, or should be.
