prolly to stop spammers and scammers I imagine if you hit the limit you're prolly sending LOTS of emails

Welcome, Z71driver. As suggested above, impeding spammers and scammers is indeed the main reason for the limit.

The limit is 50 per day, but I suspect that the limit is not a factor if a dialogue is going on.
