I will see it, as soon as someone nicks it from the internet for me. The misspelling of bastards i find annoying though. WRONG! The original title(which was a translation from Italian) was spelt correctly. Basterds means nothing in either language. I dont care that much, but everytime i see an ad for it, it jumps out at me. I guess that makes it a good ad. Er, "spelt"? |

I loved this movie it was brutal funny and pathetic! A fantastic two hour distraction. But I wouldn't call it art. There was one scene I found stimulating, but that doesn't mean it was an artistic movie. I can't wait to get it on blue-ray, and see what they left out.

sort of. Some people should not have access to The Internet and Art. There is enough mindless drivel for the masses. Let those of us who can comprehend great Art enjoy it. The rest of you can watch wacky videos on YouTube. be seeing you jesus christ, are we a little pretentious or what? The movie was okay, but it was a whole lot of Tarantino sucking his own dick for being so artsy, if you ask me. After Jackie Brown, that guy fell waaay too in love with his own legend. Kill Bill 1 and 2 were both utter crap, and as funny as Basterds was, there were too many inconsistencies that made it kinda suck (like when the Jew Hunter lets Shoshanna go. What the **** was that all about?) and the Basterds simply weren't in it enough. Too much of the movie was pulled from obscure *** film history that even my movie nerd *** didn't quite catch. Plus, the Hitler/Bormann/Goering/Goebbels being shot up was simply ridiculous and pretty stupid, if you ask me. I was pretty disappointed that I paid to see it, to tell the honest truth. Shoulda waited for a download of it. Worth seeing, but I'd way rather watch Pulp Fiction another couple dozen times. Now THAT is a damn movie. i think i love you. Lol, I'm flattered. |

I saw some of it on a bootleg DVD, I was bored through out most of the movie, I didn't even finish it. I think I stopped watching after chapter 5 I think, basically the part when they were supposed to go to the theater.

I liked it, but I thought there was too much going on. I wish they would have spent less time on the dame and more time on the basterds.

so i finally saw it. i double featured it last night with zombieland and if it were not for the fact that it was first and zombieland was second, i would have left.
I'm a tarantino fan and I usually enjoy his films except for jackie brown. well this one surpassed that one on the suck-0-meter. if it were not for the recycled soundtrack, the horrible 70's exploitation cut scenes in a freakin period film based in nazi occupied france and the boring dialogue.. i might have loved this film as i loved his others. seriously... a good 45 minutes of useless dialogue and scenes could have been cut and none would have been the wiser. dang. i was soo incredibly disappointed. |
