We are Hunkpapa Lakota from the Standing Rock Indian Rez in N. Dakota...

LOL! Your people got all the good casinos... Do you know where the Standing Rock Rez/Ft. Yates is in N. Dakota? We went to the old home place there & it was soooo depressing...it broke my Mother's heart. But my Uncle Ishtatoto told me they were able to buy their little piece of land back so there is at least that... Ojibwe beadwork is some of the finest I have ever seen...I do a little myself...

I'm a mix breed :) Souix, Cherokee and Apache with a Canadian French Great Grandmother who gave me my green eyes. I'm still learning about my heritage, I only met my biological family a few years ago.

That's really cool, K2W... Since you're still learning, I can tell you that the Sioux are really the Lakota...Sioux is a bastardized French word...I heard it means Snake People Anyone here who speaks French? Help me out if you can!

The Lakota are 3 main groups...The Hunkpapa (Sitting Bull's Nation), The Oglala, & The Minniconjou (rubbed out). You might want to start there in your research...?

I worship with the Ogalala Lakota tribe and am VERY proud of it!! I have 3 nephews and 2 nieces that are Lakota and I attend powows through out the year with them!!
