Topic: Why She Cries | |
---|---|
A single tear slides aimlessly down her cheek
And he asks why "Why do you cry?" She sits quietly , thinking on her reasons I cry for the seasons that have come and gone I cry because I am alive And she is not I cry for all the children who have gone on before me I cry for all the mothers that have lost them I cry because I can Because I am human I feel the pain and joy in all things around me I feel too much too fast too soon And yet I do not feel enough I cry because I am alone Because others are alone I cry for those who have no home Whether it be a physical home or spiritual home I cry for the ones who are lost Lost in this world of pain and doubt Who cannot find their way To what ever it is that will ease them and bring comfort I cry for the death of humanity and the rebirth of life I cry because of the unending war, violence and blood spilled For the innocence lost and the innocence found She looks up at him and whispers softly "Because I can"........... |
