I get in those moods of getting in the kitchen and getting straight out crazy trying new things, mixing this and that, and adding this and that. Although I can never seem to remember to take exact measurements so when something turns out fantastic I can't recreate it. Out of all the stuff I've thrown together "experimental cooking", I have found that in small amounts (adding more or less depending on taste of that person), that creamy peanut butter when added to gravy's or anything of that nature sets a stage thats surprising as well as mind opening to the possibilities!

yes, but then you have to include the safety warning....
"this dish may or may not have come in contact with machinery that once touched a peanuts azzzz" |

oh yeah the "nut warning"! I happen to really like PB but as a young adult, my daughter became (what we thought was) slightly allergic - then we figured out serious this can be when she had two trips to the ER in a single day that we/they THINK was a reaction to PB! I'd like to think it was 'all in her head' but it's really changed the way I think about what I serve her when she visits home... |

Being broke tends to make people very creative when it comes to throwing things together that one might not think of when they have available cash.
Right now, as it's a week from payday, and I had some unexpected bills come up, my funds are way low. For dinner tonight, it looks like it'll be chicken patties with tomato sauce, mushrooms, olives, and topped off with american cheese.. Sully's Chicken Americana..lol |

When I was in the university towards the end of semester when the grant money had ran out long ago and holiday job had not started there were a few days where we had to do with whatever we had
One of my creations was potato peeling curry with rice. I used to ask the fish and chip shop up the road to save the potato peels for me and used to take them home, Wash it thoroughly and fry in some oil until crispy fry some onion and some garlic and mix with the peels mix the Garam Masala curry powder with the peel and onions and with some water let it simmer for 30 minutes. use salt and pepper to taste.During simmering add any nuts or raisins that may be in the cupboards like almonds, hazelnuts and any type of dried fruits as long as they are not glazed.it is good While simmering prepare the rice and you have a nice dish This also was a source of income because I used to invite some class mates and sell the stuff but of course they like me were skint and couldn't pay at the time so I used to run a slate for them |

Yes exactly....Broke was a big part of it...made me creative. A dish I came up with using Ramen noodles, drained with out seasoning, rinsed to cool, using a little ranch dressing mixed with abit of the seasoning (it works with all types of meats depending on season of ramon noodle) stir it in the noodles mixing in chopped mushroom or what ever else would sound good thrown in....stir it all together and chow down!

I'm using ranch a lot myself. On sandwiches, I use it instead of mayo, or mustard. It gives a different taste to the ham/turkey/cheese boredom that usually happens. |

Oh yeah I can't stand regular mayo, I'll only use ranch or miracle whip!
