work out a two week notice when you leave a job?it's my first time seems weird.

I never bother. Why should I? They sure as hell ain't gonna give me a two-week notice if they're fixin' to fire me!

i call in sick during the 2 week notice.if they get p1ssy,i tell them


"what are you going to do,fire me?.i'm leaving in 2 weeks anyways...."

its your responsability, to end your contract

it shows every new employer that your professonal

unless you jump over the boss`s desk and kill him with a fountine pen
in wich case i think its policy to leeve straight away.

take you're vacation before you quit

I always do. In my profession it follows you around if you end a contract negatively. Don't want to burn bridges and all that.

I always work through a two week notice. I want a good recomendation from the place of employment. It shows that I'm a professional. It's always best to leave on good terms.

I give it, but they usually let me go within a day or 2. No biggie.

as someone that has to interview people...PLEASE DO....don't burn your bridges...if i say yes to hire you, and my HR dept calls your old job, you want them to say good things, not that you jumped ship..JMHO

It's the smart thing to do to make sure you have a paycheck coming in if you're going right into a new job.

i only quit once.... and yes i did however it had nothing to do with not liking the job... now as mr music puts it.... if i didnt like the job or there was a lot of bs going on.... i may not give 2 weeks notice...i have left other jobs though to go to another and i did give 2 weeks, wasnt anything against it, that time i was talking about i went to no job...... and lastly when i did quit once for another job.... i worked both jobs for two weeks after! one job was better than the other that i left for...but i gave them the 2 weeks and a extra 2 weeks to find someone fit for the job

Any form of relating...be it boss/company/employer and staff/employee is a relationship...

it's being respectful.

It's good to give a 2 week notice if you want to use them on your resume.

They're more inclined to give a future interested employer a positive recommendation of you too.

i wouldn't like burning the bridge i am standing on i might have to cross it again in the future..just a thought..one never knows.

It is the right thing to do, courteous and professional. If nothing else look at it this way...could make some bad karma.
