Topic: Are comfort foods demonic in nature? | |
---|---|
The food isn't demonic (it’s just baked that way) but the people that offer junk foods ARE demonic in nature! They are PURE evil! ![]() ![]() Thankfully, I can ward them off and eat my rice cakes in peace.! ![]() ![]() Once or twice a year, I love white chocolate, raspberry cheesecake with dark chocolate drizzle. ![]() White cheddar rice cakes? Okay, I'm with you there... Plain? Ew...now that's just gross. Your local electronics store would probably GIVE you the styrofoam packing from an HDTV box! Though the chocolate drizzle and raspberry could add a bit of zing! No, I eat them plain or with a small smear of low fat peanut putter. I have to keep my calories, sugars, and carbs down. I like 'em just for a quick fix if I feel hungry between workouts. The flavored cakes are almost as bad as chips. NO bueno! ![]() OMG...you sound just like me, with counting the calories and such. I watch fat grams like a fiend... only, we know sugar predisposes your bod to store more fat. Twizzlers are low in sugar, however. They do contain a significant amount of partially-hydrogenated oil...that's a plaque which will stick inside your circulatory system, and never go away! They're just in a form which makes them horribly addictive (waxy, chewy, not too sweet-17g's per three pieces, me thinks...) A regular-sized Snickers bar carries 24 grams of sugar, by comparison, and a heck of a lot of fat! Snickers? Twizzlers? I wouldn't even think about it! That's not even food. ![]() I'm not as crazy about my diet if I'm not training. I just finished my race in July and the season is slowing down. I still don't go overboard in the winter because I don't want to yo-yo my body -- plus I have to remain consistant for my clients. I just don't understand eating badly when I can eat yummy, healthy food without the drama! ![]() |

Can we say in unison that allowing yourself to get hungry while dieting is the very best way to end your diet?

Dude:
Love the thread. I have 3 things to say. Chocolate, chocolate & more chocolate. There is no such thing as too much chocolate. Especially the dark kind. The darker the better. tru just counting fat calories isn't always the answer. It depends on the type of fat, i.e. butter vs. olive oil. They have similar calorie counts but oil olive by far is much more beneficial. You're right about watching out for the sugars. In my book the over consumption of they & simple carbs are the real culprits for fat America. Most do not know that our bodies process sucrose, fructose, glucose & high fructose corn sweetener differently. The 1st 3 mentioned, occur naturally in a number of fruits & vegetables. HFCS, on the other hand, is processed corn syrup & is at the heart of several studies because the food industry's love affair with it & possible links to higher incidences of diabetes, heart disease & liver disease. The food industry in general shies away from regular sugar because HFCS is less expensive, thanks to the artificial price propping of sugar by the sugar industry lobby & our government. I find it almost sinister that the backfire effect of protecting the price of sugar, is the killing of it's people. Here is a link about fructose consumption in America. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/12/081209221742.htm later |

Seaweed rice crackers and homemade basil pesto.. Hommous and any vegetable . Mango!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Strawberries!!!!!!!!! Watermelon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stuff.... yummy crisp fresh stuff. I love to make my own hummus and pita chips. RECIPE: two cans garbanzo beans 3/4 cup vegetable broth 1 tspn olive oil 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese one bunch cilantro, if you are so inclined (it will come out looking like baby poop...) juice of two small limes cayenne pepper to taste garlic powder to taste Smoked Hummus (experimental stage) Omit the last two ingredients; add a drop or two of "Liquid Smoke" Pita chips: Oven set at 400 degrees; allow to preheat Put two large pitas on a cookie sheet When you smell them baking, they are just about done. When you smell them burning, well, hope you like your pita chips a little dark. Take them out of the oven. They will alreadry begin to crackle in the cool air. They should be brittle on both sides. Break apart into chips. Enjoy! Yield: Makes around four cups of hummus with plenty of chips for each Very, very low fat. ![]() |

I like all kinds of food, whether it is bad for you or good for you... the important thing is moderation... not to eat the whole cake or the whole pie... of course it isn't too terrible to eat the whole bag of carrots.
