Topic: Online Tough Guy | |

I have a question...in the same vein... "What about all the online 'nice' guys and gals?" Guys: Does it make you feel cool to be a 'nice' guy online? Ladies: What do you think of these guys? Are they who they say they are or just playing a 'nice' guy online? it cuts both ways.... Even if we have our moments of bitterness sucked from us occassionally, I think you will find that the other extreme as a rule tries at least to consider other peoples feelings, and this is rarely rewarded when the nice guy's are often considered p****s with no back bone. I've made remarks today that some considered rude, although I just thought they were witty as hell designed to put some jerk in his place with a joke. I know who I am and am done concerning myself with a cynical woman or man's uneducated view of me. Snuffy....I am asking in the same vein as online tough guys...there are plenty of online 'nice' guys, who are anything but, in real time... Perhaps I misunderstood the question, I didn't take the time to fully understand the question, but why would anyone try the facade of being a nice guy on when they really do seem to finish last. Complete jerks don't necessarilly finish first, but what I heard from women when I was new to the dating scene was that most of them seemed to get laid a whole lot more often. Later I learned it was the confidence that was sexy, but how would you convey that on a dating site. I'm dealing with an older more mature audience here though, maybe it's time I was enlightened a bit further. |

Guys: Does it make you feel cool to be a tough guy online? Ladies: What do you think of these guys? Are they who they say they are or just playing a tough guy online? People think that because they're hiding behind a computer, they can act anyway they want. I'd say usually it's a big act. |

I always thought anyone who was really tough or for that matter really a good person wouldn't have to prove it with talk. Their reputation would just kind of preceed them.

Tough Guy - portrays himself as some sort of "bad-a$$" that doesn't care about anyone or anything because he's so "bad-a$$" that he doesn't need them. This is only a thin veneer plastered on to hide someone who's been hurt... ...best to be honest and open. |

Believe me man...I was aiming that line at darkowl from a previous post...I thought I had hit the quote button ... but even toward him the spirit remains the same...SOMEONE...needed to step in and just be an A-hole... My apologies if you thought it was intended for you Snuff...Dark owl is cool..he would understand a dumb joke among the guys. |

What about Online Nice Guys? You're a #1 nice Guy,so who would fight with you online? In reality nice guys are seen as targets that won't take up for themselves by arseholes who want to beat anybody up with a minimal chance of getting thier arse kicked to disguise thier low self-esteem in front of women. |

Needy, clingy guys are probably always a turn-off to a woman...he makes himself appear to be damaged goods in some way. |
