kind of birthday cake??? Lemon poppyseed, with Raspberry filling and creamcheese frosting.Decorations spun sugar flowers. Beautiful melts in your mouth and so darn good.

German chocolate. Funny thing, that. First of all, it's not German. The first actual recipe came from the USA, and the name was derived from an Englishman named Samuel German. Secondly, it's got coconut on it. When's the last time anybody saw a palm tree in Germany?

chocolate chip cake, it has chips of course but also finally ground bitter sweet chocolate. Very dense, like I think of old fashioned cakes having been. I haven't had it in years, lost the recipe...anyone have it? Also lost another very dense, heavy cake called Harvest cake - you might know if you have this one because it called for cutting the raisins in half. What yummy memories this has stirred...(no pun intended)

I like all cake. However, I would never turn down carrot cake with raisins. Oh yea... and coconut sprinkled on top of the cream cheese frosting, yum!
