I was telling a friend today that pot smokers tend to repeat themselves alot, at least that is what I noticed years ago being around a few that smoked regularly. Then today I read from a paper by a DR. that it does something to short term memory that causes that.

I certainly don't need anything to help destroy my short term memory besides menopause.. LOL

short or long term memory laugh

I say smoke what you want, but right now marijuana is considered illegal, the point I wanted to make was the whole marijuana is an herb, but just on that point cocaine and heroine all come from plants. Yes they are chemically treated but as I don't know if these drugs can be manufactured without chemicals I can only guess.

I think most people are hung up on the illegal part of it. Driving to fast is illegal, drunk driving is illegal, coming here without going through immigration is illegal, ponzi schemes are illegal, and on and on. I can appreciate people that are for legal marijuana, and those against it...I just think spending law enforcement resources and prisons resources to catch and lock up pot heads is a big waste of time and money. Like I said before, I've had plenty of fights with drunks, even responded to many drunk driver auto fatalities, however, most people that are high are mellow, want to relax and eat and sleep. Most Pharmaceutical pills have worse side effects than pot, and we pay for them..and the government gets it cut as well.

Hard to disagree with that. I was more angry with my friends that did pot because I could never get them off the dang couch to do anything. When you consider what taxpayer pay out to house them in prison it really makes very little sense.

You are so right, I am one of those guilty parties who speeds. But I too have seen first hand people under the influence of pot who are not as quiet nor as demure as most here like to comment. I have seen some act quite the fool, saying and doing things that ordinarily they would not do, foolish things and stupid things and yes have also witnessed them become violent.

I just think that if they legalize marijuana, don't you think the other users will also jump on the band wagon, I see pro-cocaine users, pro-crack users, pro-heroine users raising a stink as they to originate from plants.

Again this is just my opinion - if we're to legalize let's legalize all of it.

Wow, I have never seen a pot head get violent, but I really don't see the pot making them violent, they were violent to begin with, I would say, but not as an expert. Now heroin and cocaine, acid are another matter, I would never want to see those legalized.

I am curious Fran why you say if you legalize pot legalize it all, when some are clearly more dangerous than others. You might have posted that already, forgive me if you have... It's that damn long term short term thing again.. LOL

I truly just see it as a stepping stone, first legalize pot, then the crack addicts, cocaine addicts, and heroine addicts will also get research done to show how their drug of choice has medicinal usage.

Who performed the testing on marijuana? Who requested this research? Who paid for this research? Did that person/people who did the research also test the product? Were humans used to test out this theory or strictly lab rats? What were the side effects?

I have many unanswered questions - this is why I say if you are going to legalize it, legalize it all.

I have seen people become violent while under the influence - now whether the pot made the violence come out, I for one will never know nor be sure. The same can be said of the crack head, the coke head, or the heroine user, the drugs don't make them violent. Hey, isn't heroine a downer too?

Glad it alleviated your mom's pain especially during chemo and her cancer battle. flowerforyou

Just my personal opinion, if you are going to make marijuana legal then legalize all drugs.

While under the influence of any drug I am certain that pain can take a backseat to the high, even if only briefly.

all so-called victimless crime should be legal thus making it truly victimless

if they are legal then there would not be turf wars to control the market area

but hey............

I know pot isn't "good" for you. But, i honestly don't see where it is "bad" for you either. Aside from, like War said, burning it putting tar in your lungs.

Either way, i would like to revisit this after doing some research and consulting.

One thing i do know, is that we completely underestimated vitamin c's anti-cancer properties.

And SUPPOSEDLY large amounts of fish oil and actually REVERSE some of the affects of Alzheimers. Why and how, i do not know, but i will look into this as well.

Many health problems, I truely believe, can be solved by herbal and nutritional means. But once again, this is just something i've been getting into recently...

I used to get bronchitis ever dang year, and a alternative health doctor told me to use vit c regularly, never had it again, much less a cold. Power of the mind.. don't know, but don't care either if it works. LOL

Personally I think something grows somewhere in the world that cures one thing or the other, but pharmacaetical companies don't have much of an interest in suggesting we treat ourselves for good reason.

Drugs aren't victimless crimes. They affect families.

Pot was the only thing that got rid of my morning sickness when I was pregnant. People say that is terrible to do when your pregnant... I didn't sit and bake and smoke all day... two puffs and I felt better.

I have a vet friend that is allowed to smoke it for chronic pain, only takes a couple of puffs and it helps here. Don't see anything wrong with that.

I have no problem with adults using it for nausea or just to relax...it's not my thing...but I don't have a problem with others doing it as long as it doesn't effect me and mine. I DO have a problem with kids using it. it's not good for them unless they are going through chemo and under the doctors care.
