i got one.

i was raised in the same house as my cousin up until i was in third grade. he was like a brother to me, literally. well...he passed away, and after three days up with my aunt and uncle keeping them together, i headed back to my mother-in-law's house to get two hours of sleep before the funeral.

heading to the funeral, i had my one and only accident ever. i hit a parked truck, in front of the police station...going fifteen miles per hour. my reactions were so dulled from grief and lack of sleep that i just wasn't able to wrap my brain around "stop".

the officers knew my cousin; he was well-loved. however, when they ran my license, it came up with a violation of the hot check law. they arrested me, all dressed in black...sent my kids on the way with a lady from the church...and then shipped me back to the town i lived in, three hours away. turns out my husband had written a check on the account, without signing it...and because my name was first, they put the warrant out on ME.

the police brought me to the station here, and then brought me home and dropped me off...three hours away from my car AND my kids.

and i missed the funeral.

and i'll never have a joint account again, heh.

Kristi, I learned a BIG lesson.

that happened to me about 3 months ago, I forgot to pay $44 in cout fees for a traffic ticket sat in jail for 3 hours till I got my dad to pay it until I could hit an ATM, EMBARRASING!!!!

Mikey, it is embarrasing. But I can laugh at it now. I just hope I don't ever forget again.

"Seat Belt"....not kidding....no damned way was I gonna pay a penny for that dumb sh*!. The actual criminals were stunned.

On the up side...I now wear my seat belt.
