They've had Socialist Health Care in the UK for some time now. They are suffering from a burdened system and are trying to come up with ideas to relieve the pressure.

Senile 'have a duty to die'

PENSIONERS with dementia should consider ending their lives to stop "wasting" NHS resources, it was suggested yesterday.
Medical ethics expert Baroness Warnock, 84, said senility sufferers were a burden to their families and doctors.

And she said there was nothing wrong with them feeling they had a "duty" to opt for euthanasia for the sake of others.

She said: "If you are demented you are wasting people's lives, your family's lives and you are wasting the resources of the NHS.

"I am fully in agreement with the argument that if pain is insufferable then someone should be given help to die."

Speaking to church journal Life and Work she said she had just written an article entitled A Duty to Die?

She went on: "I feel there is a wider argument that if somebody desperately wants to die because they are a burden to their family, or the state, then I think they should."

The Baroness, the first Government-linked expert to speak in favour of euthanasia, was accused of "barbaric" comments.

Neil Hunt, of the Alzheimer's Society, said: "I am shocked that Lady Warnock could disregard the value of the lives of people with dementia so callously."

Baroness Warnock has served on many Lords committees including those dealing with medical ethics and scientific procedures and has worked with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

I think Baroness Warnock should set an example and kill herself! She is obviously quite demented herself.

If I was so sick and in and out all the time draining my sons, I would want to go, move on. Of course it should be a choice.

I have a couple of patients that are formerly from Canada and they have told us how bad the healthcare system is there. They have to wait forever to have procedures done, etc. I don't know because I am not from there but I do know that if what the schmuck in the white house is wanting passed as so called healthcare then it will cease to exist as it does now so be prepared to no longer get the service you now have. Better run out right now and get anything you need done NOW!

I think its sick that there are rich people and insurance corporations that are profiting from people being sick and hurt here in America

A lot of people dont get any service now

I just got back from a few weeks in Canada and visited with many friends there. We had some discussions about health care and they freaked out when I told them I pay over $500 a month for single coverage.

Not one of them complained about their system or access to care.

And just for the record, the plan I understand they are drafting in the USA is not socialized like in Canada or the UK.

People are making statements using the word "socialized" just to scare people.
