....but why don't more people have pictures of them SMILING in their profiles???
I mean, I have looked at quite a few profiles recently and the vast majority of them, along with saying the exact same things, all have one thing in common. ALL THE PEOPLE LOOK LIKE THEY ARE PISSED!!!! WTF people??? Are ya mad because you are having to resort to being on a dating site?? Do you hate your life that much??? Do you not realize that one of the major things that will attract a man or woman is a decent smile?? As Joker said in The Dark Knight.... Why so serious??? I know...I know....it's their choice. Fine. But I know one thing for certain. When I see a profile that has pictures of someone who looks like they are completely pissed or just utterly bored...I simply take a quick look at what they have to say, and then click next. Think about it. A profile that says they are looking for someone with a sense of humor, but shows no pictures of the person with a smile on their face just seems a bit silly. Have some fun with it for cryin out loud. Put in a picture of yourself when you were just goofing for the camera. Put up one where the person taking the pic caught you by surprise. Show everyone that you have a lighter side..IF you actually DO have a lighter side. |

Personally, I greatly dislike being photographed. I'm not beauty queen but I feel like I look much better in person than in photos - I feel like I always look bad - doesn't make me wanna smile when someone busts out the camera.

My agent told me that writers are always supposed to look serious and pensive, otherwise your readers (and prospective readers) catch on to the idea that you're just spending most of your time goofing off instead of doing real work.
You have to make them think it's hard to write books, you have to make them think you suffer for your art. Or, you can just use a picture of a goat. Either way is good. |

i smile in most of my pictures... but only because i get the most comments on my smile... so its probably my favorite feature.

I get so irritated with people who are camera shy. They go through such antics to not be in a picture that they draw more attention to themselves. Then in the photo you see them with arms flailing around in the air or they're leaning or bending over all weird. Stand/sit there like an adult and give a pleasant smile. Job done.

Who cares if he/she smiles, as long as you are attracted to em and they don't wanna kill you, dismember you, and/or eat you, what's it matter if they're smiling?
