I live in the city. We have possums, skunks, groundhogs and raccoons in my neighborhood.Squirrels you are used to having in the hood. I live about a block and a half from one of the biggest hospitals in Ohio. You wouldn`t think critters like that would be around here, but surprise. The raccoons are as big as German Shepherd puppies. They live in the storm sewer across the street.
You did the right thing Krupa. |

Blahhhhhh I know that opposums are nasty and ugly little critters with pouches that feed on disgusting **** (but, so do alot of Wal-Mart shoppers with the fanny packs) I never messed with them cause I always thought it was cool that North America had the only other marsupial species out side of the Australian continent (that I am aware of) Besides...they really do only eat the bugs that I don't wanna deal with... and they are far less of a pain in the @ss than the Coons, Coyotes, Bobcats I used to find them or their cubs as a kid. Let's face it...they ain't pretty, they stink and they are ALWAYS infested with fleas....but, Oh man....I just really dislike taking a life of an innocent.... I know it was the right thing to do...I was really hoping it would just get up and lope off...but, the spine was reeeealllly broken. I guess it would be easier if I knew it wasn't looking at me...scared to death..mortally wounded and hoping I would just go away and it could survive.... Damn I'll give you that they're funny looking and obnoxious. I usually live trap them and take them to the back of the property and let 'em loose. I'm sorry that you had to do it, but definately better then letting it die miserably. There's nothing wrong in putting it down if it needs to be done. |

Yes that is not a good feeling. But you had to do what you had to do, the poor little thing was suffering.
