Not only that, but lawsuits are just something the rich and famous just have to endure at times.
There'll often be some nutjob or some grifter looking to have you dead-to-rights when it comes to money and frivolous lawsuits. In fact, I heard somewhere that Shaquille O'Neal often had to dole out cash to "settle out of court" with people just looking to scam him out of money. And they'll often choose to settle out of court instead of fighting it because it's often more trouble than its worth- the wasted time, the lawyers' fees, and the dragging up of previous bad memories and stuff. |

Very true Moof and big companies do the same.. It's unfortunate that people have to deal with whack jobs and coniving lying people in their every day lifes... One good thing about not being rich and famous...

Yeah. You're often put in the crosshairs if you've got at least some minor kind of notoriety and money to your name.
Of course, this DOESN'T discount the fact that celebs who take part in activities that will get them sued or put through criminal prosecution (as was the case with Phil Spector) SHOULD be sued or put through criminal prosecution. Just because you're famous for something doesn't mean you're above the law, pure and simple. Unfortunately, a great many "celebrities" out there often believe that they are in fact above the law and act with impunity. And that's not too good at all. |
