In reguards following the law.
James 2:10-14 Quite straight forward. |

What is interesting to me is that the jews are refered to following
613 laws and they are old/done away laws. How many laws are thier in the new Testatament that you claim as somehow better. 1000+ are you a legalists? miles |

In my entire life the Sabbath has always been on a sunday.
Enlighten me as to why some believe it falls on Saturday? |
|

stevewm,
Nero (I believe) changed the week, so that Christians would be forced to work on Saturday (the Jewish Sabbath), in response Christians adopted Sunday as the new Sabbath. Have you noticed that Sunday is the first day of the week on you calendar? That's not a mistake, it was an attempt to destroy Christianity. |

Thank you spider
does that not mean that a good portion of the christian population go against gods will? Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy. |

stevewm,
The Sabbath, like all of the Law, was a shadow of Jesus. We are under grace, not law. Romans 14 states "One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind." If you feel like you must observe the Sabbath, that is God letting you know that it is something YOU personally need to do. For someone else, they might not feel the need to observe the Sabbath. Whatever you do, must be in faith. Read Romans 14, it is a short but VERY powerful chapter. |

Read Genesis.
It states in no uncertain terms that we are to keep the sabbath holy. Christ said he came not to abolish the law but to uphold it. That quote from Romans is taken out of context. It is about something entirely different read the paragraphs above and below it. |

AdventureBegins,
I've read the whole chapter! It's about Christians not judging each other for doctrine. Since when you are concerned about the law? The Bible is just a "holy" book written by men from their point of view, right? |

Genesis is from the Torah.
That book was not voted upon by a council led by an unbeliever. It was scribed under very precise conditions. It was also something that council could not change as it was in much wider circulation than they could control. |

How does the sabbath apply to people who don't have a choice but to
work. When they're trying desparately to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. Every day above ground is a work day for some. What about those who have a commitment to others where they can't just say no. Not looking to pick a fight, just curious if there's a provision for people who have no choice. I know some people in this situation. |

If a man must work I reckon he should work.
Genesis does not say we must not work it says we must remember the day and keep it holy. That concept was expanded on later by Moses. |
