I know by now that this is a crazy question because through advice and experience girls met at bars are supposedly not right for building something special. The problem is... when going out with a group of buddies it always ends up that they are picking up girls and hooking up and what not. I can't seem to ever pick up a girl at a bar because I believe in more than just the one night deal. If i meet her i wanna talk, get to know and then take her for a real date sometime after meeting her. My friends all say dont waste time just pick up chicks and this and that. I don't want to change myself just for this because I do believe nice guys finish last.. but I don't understand why girls sometimes don't see this... just a topic starter.. input if you would like.

Aviod the HOOK UP at the bar. When you meet at a bar exchange numbers meet somewhere other then a bar for a date and then decide after talking and getting to know each other out of the bar scene.
NOt all bar goes are the same.

Not all women are cheap and easy. Use your own mind in your decision making.

but dude seriously.. your friends they sound like crappy dudes who will end up with some nice disease growin off their junk by the end of the year.

i mean really.. who wants a dude who comes into a bar just to pick up on another one night stand? so go to the bar, enjoy the view, have a few drinks, do some dancing, and go home.

Tell me why is it that some think that the ones that goes to bars are only a cheap hook up and you can not find anyone to date there.

Shshshsh why is it that if you meet someone in a bar you think you can not have a relationship with them.

Do you really think that some do not go to the hars just to have a few drinks and enjoy being around others.

My Gawd I met my ex in the bar I worked at many moons ago and yes he actually asked me out on a date we were married 11 years so shshs ya know it can happen.

Guess some have it inplanted in their little minds bars are only for a one night stand. I have a BIG NEWS FLASH for ya WAKE UP!!

If that is all you are there for or that is the way you see it then that is all you will ever get!!!

txs.. hon i think his deal is alot of what he's seeing are girls his age who do go to bars for that reason. i remember just a few years ago being in that boat and having alot of girlfriends who were like that. and me ... being totally against it would be left at the bar by myself by the end of the night because they'd all left with their new friends. but none of them.. not one ever turned out to be relationship quality because at that age.. you screw first and ask romantic questions later.

it sucks to t have to face but thats just how things are in ALOT of situations and places.

I can't do hit it and quit it either.

Ever hear of patience?

Go out, take the time to watch, observe or whatever you want to call it. If you expect to immediately find someone to "date", you're still basically in the same category as the others with an end goal of lesser urgency.

I'm amazed that with all the avenues of approach today that some are still going on about this subject. Even a hermit can find someone these days if they have patience. I'm starting to believe that what has been said about this society is true. Immediate gratification is foremost.

Well I must admit by talking to my son that is all he goes to the bars for.

I guesse times have changed since I was your age and how we perceived the bars.

Guess all I can say is find other places to go then heck I have found lots of others to just sit and talk to at Applebees even yeah I sit at the bar have something to snack on and have a few beers.

Even the waterparks, bowling , putt-putt, or any other places that the ones your age likes to do would be good places to go.

I believe it is more of the atmosphere at the bar than the actual girls themselves. When you're out drinking and partying with friends you're not in "find my soul mate" mode. Maybe just have fun with your friends and if you meet someone you think you might be interested in then ask for her number and try to get some one on one time another night. You're probably not going to find out if you LIKE a girl when she's drunk because she could be totally different sober.

I agree,Not all girls at bars are there, for just a one night stand.
I have a bar, I hang out at, real regular,because I enjoy having a couple of beers,where I feel comfortable.people know me by name.
