I have a digital and a 35mm SLR, both Canon. I've been shooting for about 12 years now.

I'd love to get another, but then i'm forced to buy all sorts of lenses and teleobjectives and whatnot for it.....too much $$$

I got a Fuji Quickshot which has an awesome zoom , it's just a point-and-shoot idiot digital camera.

I also have a 35mm and a digital SLR. The 35mm is a Minolta and the digital is a Canon.

Let me guess, the Rebel XT? My brother has that..he spends way too much money for the equipment.

I have a little Canon for that too, I call it a purse camera LOL

My canon lenses are interchangeable between the digital and 35mm so I don't have to buy separate lenses for them flowers

Usually you get a lens with the camera and you would have to buy a zoom and a macro so yeah you're lookin at about 2g's for something decent ohwell

Just the digital rebel. I got it before the XT came out.

4 g's and he only has a rebel? Aye, he should upgrade the body if he's spending so much on lenses and stuff.

Don't get me wrong the rebel is great for a beginner SLR camera but it sounds like he's really into it.

I have a 20D body and 5 lenses I want to upgrade to the 50D bigsmile

I'd love to get a better camera. However, I don't have the extra money for it right now, so what I have will have to do.

I love photography, but I'd rather like to edit them than take the pictures. My bro is in the same deal..he bought all his stuff over the years, not once and he can't afford to buy a new camera + he likes what he got..he got so used to it, knows all the things about it. I'm not so camera-oriented, I'm more into editing pics.

That's why I had a thread a while ago. If you got a picture and you'd like to make it better, then let me see what I can do!

What's SLR? Is that a brand or a type?

I had a pretty nice Samsung digital camera I gave to my mom.

I'd like to get a new digital camera and start taking pics.

@totage:

SLR - Single Lens Reflex

Basically, I'm just gonna copy it for your from the wiki:

The single-lens reflex (SLR)
camera uses an automatic
moving mirror system which
permits the photographer to
see exactly what will be captured
by the film or digital imaging system,
as opposed to non-SLR cameras where
the view through the viewfinder
could be significantly different
from what was captured on film.

------------------------------------

But my note to this:

It works just like the old school 35mm...
the biggest advantage is that you don't have to wait
around for the cam to shoot,
it has a real shutter in it and it
makes a lot better pics than the regular
digital cameras, because of the built-quality
and the size of lenses and the capturing gizmo in it.

You simply make amazingly good pictures with it.
.especially if you master how to shoot
with manually adjusting various things
on it for the best effect.

Not to mention how you can interchange all
sorts of lenses and other stuff on it.
There is a giant support for them,
since professionals only use these
cameras.
Here look:

Simply put an SLR is the kind of camera that makes a "clicking noise" when you take a picture... thats the shutter making the noise. I do quite a bit of theater photography and sometimes the audience doesn't care for my clicking away ohwell
