I went to churchofeuthanasia - looks like a link farm. You sure its a real church? I think the web presence is fake. Oh, and those Jedi are so silly!!! Creating a religion based on fictional stories!!
not sure didnt look enough into it. found a site that listed a lot of "weird" religions so just started pulling ones for examples to the earlier post. as far as which ones are legit i would have to dig into them deeper. read the faq page that is enough to make you wonder how screwed up some people really are. So what exactly is a "legit" religion? How does one decide? And more to the point, what happens when two people disagree on the legitimacy of a particular religion? This is the very heart of religious discrimination. Bumpersticker: "Religions are just cults with more members" |

As far as 'what makes a legit religion', I don't know the answer.

But I do believe that if someone wants to make some money by getting some web traffic by setting up a link farm, and therefore creates a web page 'for' a religion that is entirely fabricated from that one persons creativity (for the sole purpose of making money off web traffic), somehow I don't think that should qualify as a legit religion. But, it could become one, if enough people take the website seriously! |

Or they had beliefs that most would not normally associate with religion. |
