Well... the U.S. Army did a study pertaining to lucidity and hours worked, and they found that working over ten hours would result in what's referred to in military circles as "diminished capacity". In other words, you end up hitting a wall both physically and mentally.

Essentially put, you're kind of deluding yourself if you think you can continue to work more than ten hours and remain sharp as a tack. The fatigue will eventually get to you.

oh it does, I can tell.. the breather helps though and the fact that people aren't constantly slamming me with calls and questions in person while I'm at home...

Well... they probably shouldn't be slamming you with work calls anyway, being that you're off-clock and stuff.

I get that kind of malarkey all the time in my line of work- I'll be clocked out and at home, trying to get some sleep... when some production assistant dolt or production designer idiot has somehow found the time to bug me about some upcoming gag. This would be bad enough if they didn't call me at the lamest hours of the night- I've been called as late as three in the morning because those maroons took it upon themselves to keep working DESPITE being off-clock.

It's like I always tell them- when I'm off-clock, I'm off-clock. That means questions about the production are verboten.
