I have a herniated disc...I find walking helps keep it strong.

Yeah but still that is horrible situation. I know you have to have trouble sleeping.

If you want to get rid of the back pain for good then excercise will do it. Mostly running or streching your leg muscles which in turn streches your buttock muscles which in turn stretches your back muscles which in turn keeps your back align like it is suppose too. Lack of excercise is the major reason we get back pain as we get older. How many kidds do you know with back pain. I also have a friend who say`s a table spoon of red cidar vinagor a day will keep your back pain away. Not to mention help anyone loose weight as well if they need it. Good Luck

OUCH Kim. Sorry to hear that.flowerforyou

I have a high pain tolerance but geez oh man, I can barely walk this time. Don't know how you all deal with it on a daily basis.
Have gotten used to it...take 15 minute intervals between sitting, standing, housework, etc...the worst is the headaches...can't remember the last time I DIDN'T have one....wake up with them and go to sleep with them....sucks...but....could be worse...at least I am breathing enough to know that it hurtsohwell

mine was much worse before they fused it. so, as bad as it is, it's an improvement. just the muskels in my neck get spasmed out and I have to work it out in physical torture, I mean therapy

Don't worry, we get called that all the time. My favorite is the russian names my patients like to make up.....laugh

Connie....if it keeps up, you might think about making an appt. to see a therapist. I don't know if your state has direct access, but if it does, you won't even need a doctor's script. They might be able to set you up on traction for a few sessions and get it under control for you.

Traction? <visualizing a torture stretching machine>

Can that make me about 2 inches taller too? please?

get yourself some of those gravity boots and hang upside down. My mother swears by it. She a little nutty though, so who knows.

Actually inversion tables can be helpful. I've wanted to try one of those myself.
