A healthy combination of both. There are too many things you just can't learn from a book.

What do you feel has gotten you farther along in life...Education or Street Smarts? Street smarts gets you further in life But, book smarts gets you those nice cushy jobs. Having both will take you anywhere you want to go.

Wow...what a great question, there can be an argument made for both. I will have to say that when the economy is good, education may get someone further; however, when it is bad, street smarts may. AS far as I know, hustle 101 isn't taught at grad school. Roko

I had the finest education that Catholic school money could buy... ...but my street smarts have gotten me farther & given me more experiences than a cushy job could ever have given me... School of Hard Knocks...the colors are black & blue & I'm proud to wear 'em...

I have a bit of both... Sometimes you have to be book smart,,, but I believe Street Smarts have got me further in life..

Most of my years were in the Military or as a government contractor. The street smarts will keep you alive, but I needed the book smarts to be the third in command of a Nuke Base. Now I'm just crazy, works for me.
