yeah like that is the actions of a free people It's called being a civilized community. kinda like not playing on the sidewalk Children now play on the sidewalk. When I was a child, they played on the sidewalk. When my parents were children, they played on the sidewalk. When my grandparent were children, they played on the sidewalk. When we were children...we played in the streets. It was much safer then too. Sidewalks were for big cities in town. Or small town access to the stores and such. We had no sidewalks in my neighborhood. Just green grass and yard. Then there was the playground...the street.lol Kat In my home town only rich neighborhoods had nice sidewalks, everyone had broken and jagged sidewalks. Fun for rough bike riding, but not much else. Thomas, My whole city has sidewalks. If I leave the city and go the county, I see that some areas have sidewalks and some don't. Most of the nicer areas don't have sidewalks. When I was looking to buy a house, I didn't want a house with no sidewalk. I wanted a safe place for my child to ride their bike and roller skate. I did find out that some areas that don't have sidewalks allow you to make your own. If my sidewalk gets bad, my city has a 50-50 program. The city will pay half for replacements and the owner pays half. |

We played everywhere, but we had rather large yards. My families yard was the place to be though. All the neighbor kids cam to our yard. We played every sport you could think of. Professional wrestling on an old mattress set tossed out by parent brings back the fondest memories though. I lost the championship match to my little brother on a technicality. |

When I was a child, they played on the sidewalk. When my parents were children, they played on the sidewalk. When my grandparent were children, they played on the sidewalk." That's the way it is here. Kids play in their backyard for somethings and use the sidewalk for activities that require concrete. Parents can watch their kids that way. That's people caring about people. We keep the kids safe. |

You a lot more attractive than the mean neighbors I had growing up. There was one we called Old Joe. I think he hated everyone including squirrels. He would not allow anyone to use his sidewalk and would use his pellet gun to shoot squirrels off the telephone poles then throw them into the neighboring yards. |
