Topic: bad neighbors what to do | |
---|---|
The people next to me moved out since their only son was beat up getting off the bus one day. They still owe on the mortgage, but went and got another house somewhere. so they couldn't rent this place for a long time and now it's Section 8. Then these awful animals moved in. They park their car halfway in my yard. The mother and father don't have jobs and they have 4 kids that scream all day long. The youngest (2 years old!) wanders around the neighborhood and wanders off far a lot. The mother is so lazy she just opens the door and SCREAMS his name. When that doesn't work(it never does) she gets in her car and drives about 80 yards down the street looking for him honking the horn. Today one of them threw a rock at a passing car. Turns out he was an off duty cop. She and the dad totally flip out when the cop gets mad! They argue it was just a pebble! There is so much more but I'm too pissed to type about it. Calling the cops will do nothing. I needed to vent this!! There's alot of that and much much worse in the city I grew up in. They do drug deals literally in the middle of the street in broad day light. Kids run around with no parental supervision. It's horrible. The county I'm in has the worst Children Service, they want keep the child with the mother no matter how unfit she is. They do whatever they have to NOT to do their job. The police are useless and probably half afraid to really do anything. I'm glad I got out when I did. |

Same here. drug dealers and drive-by shooting once in broad daylight about 50 feet from my place. |

you will have to say who you...I live way out in the country and going down the road this lady never watched her kids...I had to slam on the brakes more then once cuz her kids ran out into the road...I called cps...and I had to give all kinda info as to who I was where I lived and what I was doing going by her house so much...

U can call Child Protective Services an remain anonymous. Havin worked for CPS, I would suggest have as much info as possible. Write down times, dates of occurences. Be able to give them names and ages of the children and parents. This kind of info helps out a great deal when doin an investigation. If you are friends with any other neighbors ask them if they would also call. The more complaints they get concernin the family from a variety of people, the better. If it's just one person doin the complainin it's not taken as seriously unfortunately.

When I first moved here it wasn't bad at all.
Seems like no matter where I go they eventually come and ruin everything. 4th time now. I can't do the things I want because I can't concentrate with all the noise. Worse, my taxes pay their rent, food. I lose sleep etc. |

Calling the cops may not do much, but calling child protective services sure as hell will. A two year old wandering the neighborhood or even down the street is no joke. Can I remain anonymous? Don't need these assclowns knowing it was me. They'll think it was the cop I'm sure.....but don't they need verification and stuff? Payphone But I would think Child Youth Services wouldn't take it seriously from a payphone. You know how some people just play dirty tricks and they don't like/want false claims. All reports are investigated. You do not need to call from a payphone. You do not need to give your name either, though even if you did, it is not released. |

Get your self a pre-paid phone and call everytime the Mother goes looking for her two year old.....and yes, you can call without leaving any info about who you are.......Protective services will start looking into calls after three have been made.

If you turn them into Child Protective Services, you DO NOT have to give your name. CPS will come and do a check and then your "job" will to be to continue to call the police and let them make a report. Then the Police will have to do something about it esp when you tell them they have been reported to CPS!!
Just remember, you are doing it to protect the children! No child should be allowed to roam the streets like that! Listen to your gut if you feel like you need to do something, then do it. Good Luck |

I can move too.....but I am a man of principle and I lived here first. Why should I have to move? |

That is a very dangerous situation. There should actually be a 1-800 number u can call 24/7. Every state has one. Just remember what I said, as much info as possible. You wouldn't believe some of the reports I've taken that couldn't be investigated because we had no info such as the simple address in which to go investigate. |

The other kids aren't much older and use this toy truck thing to slide down the street around a blind corner .....cars are always flying around same corner and one of these they're gonna get hit. The parents do not care. I have asked them to stop riding that thing next to my house but it only lasts for a day or 2. These 'people' believe it's a free country and can do whatever they want. I hear them actually say that. They take ZERO responsibility for their actions and I see this more and more in America and it makes me sick. |

Call CPS. Also call the landlord.
In my city we can call the city about problem homes like that. We can also call our alderman. We are not helpless about these situations. There are people to call. |

The landlord used to be my neighbor. my ex-wife and him hated each other so he hates me. The real irony here is that when I moved here he had hand made signs in HIS window pointing towards our house(s) saying NO SECTION 8. Then he goes and makes his house Section 8. Worse....these people next door make more money on welfare and food stamps then I do working my ass off. They say life ain't fair....but that's just plain wrong! |

Why are you bringing their financial situation into it? I thought this was about their children and their behavior? Trust me, they do not get much on food stamps. It barely feeds people for a week. What do you mean by "these people"? You can call the city, CPS, and the alderman of your neighborhood. |
