i was just wondering if it makes me a total asshole because i would like to break up with the girl i am dating because i just lost intrest. shes a total sweetheart and all its just i dont feel like our personalities are on par and i dont want to string her out knowing ive lost intrest.

so tell me mingle2 formally justsayhi...
am i a d%ck because i so feel like one

can you honestly think of a better reason to break up? what's the point of dating someone you don't have any interest in (don't say sex)?

ok gonna bring this tread to life again for an update...
so i broke up with her very kindly and nicely
she seemed to take it well until her best friend RIPPED MY AS$ apart for being so inconsiderate and what not
appearantly i am the biggest doochebag to ever walk the earth because i hurt her feelings, and i made her feel like shite...
all i really said was how i felt...
i told her she was amazing and that this was all my fault i just think that were better friends than significant others. and before she deleted me on EVERYTHING i told her to never settle on anyone and that she deserves someone just as amazing as she is...
so mingle2
IM SINGLE AGAIN ! ! !

Its typical for someone to think they are being a 'good friend' by casting hate at someone's ex. There's no sense or reason to it, nor even any real compassion or caring - usually they are just trying to help, in their own immature way, for her 'get over', sometimes they are just trying to 'posture' as a 'loyal friend'. You don't sound like you are letting it bother you, though. What you did was far far better than stringing her along.
