I dont really think the "heterosexual couples breed" argument can be successfully waged anymore simply because the planet is vastly overpopulated now as it is because people breed with impunity.

So part of the solution would be loving same sex couples who wont reproduce themselves yet will adopt some of these children that end up being brutally abused in foster care very often. Not all gay/lesbian married couples want to start families but it seems many do. That's in fact part of the reason some want to marry to begin with.

Actually that's interesting, was thinking that myself. I never ever think about what others do in bed, doesn't even cross my mind, yet some are so vocal about what displeases them.. very strange.

all the outrage in the gay community is a bunch of bs..for 2 reasons...1.its a word.. marrige = man and woman, civil union= man+man or woman+woman all that needs to be done is assure that civil unionised couples have the same rights as married couples in every way..and 2.its not descrimination the people have spoken prop 8 was voted on just like the presidency was..and here is an extra : every continent in the world defines marrige between a man and a woman!!!! so thats every nationality/ethnicity in agreement!!(any 1 thats against gay marrige just because they dont like homosexuals are wrong too just for the record)

There are gays in ever nationality and ever community in every country around the world. Woudln't it be nice if the world grew up and evolved, everything else seem to do so except for some human beings.

We made the laws, we should also extend them to everyone.

Personally I am so so sick of this argument that I don't even care about it for myself and my partner anymore and I woudln't at all if it weren't for all the generations to come that will fight for this right as they should. It's time for the world to come out of the dark ages and stop pretending what does exist, does not.

I think the irony is many past civilizations practiced bi-sexuality and that was considered the standard. People wed but they did this very often only to have heirs. There were lesbians and men often had male lovers. The Romans, the Spartans, the list goes on. It would have been considered odd to limit oneself sexually to a gender.

Society has done a fairly good job of keeping it under wraps but yes it's been around forever, but so has our antiquated views of sexuality. Heck even straight sex isn't quite natural anymore considering people are using drugs to allow them to even have it.

How we became so sexually repressed is a mystery to me. I mean I know how we demonized it, just don't know why we ever did that in the first place.

Grown people of mental competency should be able to marry whoever they choose to marry and the outside populace shouldn't have **** to say about it.

That is a good question, would like an answer to that one. This is so personal. It's not like voting on a new road, it's about human beings, yet some feel thier religion or their personal prejudices gives them the right to dictate who should be allowed the to marry whom... Just boggle the mind.
