Topic: True or False/ Do you believe or not? | |

I have a friend that has psychic abilities and for the most part I never truly believed. I have been to her house many times and I know that she does readings and tarot cards.
Well one night sitting in her dining room, all of a sudden their was a smell of baked apple pie. I had been there for most of the day so I knew that she had not baked a pie of any sorts. She was sitting across the table from me when she says, don't take this the wrong way but we have a visitor. Of course I turn around to look in the doorway, like anyone else would have, there was no one there. So my friend proceeds to inform me that it is an elderly lady in her late 60's with gray hair. OK I know what you are thinking, hell that could be anyone right, well my friend proceeds to describe wht the woman is wearing. AT that moment the woman spoke to my friend and asked her to relay a message to me. I chuckled and said ok what did she say. She said that the woman wanted me to know that her feet didn't hurt her anymore. at the same time she is telling me what the woman is wearing again. A house dress, cardigan sweater with the sleeves pushed up to the elbow and nursing shoes. The person my friend described was my grandmother, who was my best friend and had passed away 23 yrs ago. I never told my friend about my grandmother so there was no way for her to know anything about it let alone describe the clothing she wore and the statement the woman made. My grandmother suffered from severe corns and bunions so badly that only nursing shoes were comfortable for her to wear. I became a believer on this day! |

Ultimately, I believe anything is possible. That means that whether or not I have personal experience in any of these catagories, it COULD still be someone else's truth or reality. We use a very small portion of our brains, as humans, and I think it's much larger leap of faith to think we know it all or can prove it all.
If someone's belief in any of the OP list fails to impact me negatively and doesn't put them/anyone else in any danger...then who am I to argue? |

If someone's belief in any of the OP list fails to impact me negatively? I would change "me" to "anyone". You pretty much said it in the following . . . and doesn't put them/anyone else in any danger...then who am I to argue?
But I think negatively captures danger and all that so . . . sounds good to me! The issue for me is that I can come up with lots of negative examples. |

What's that got to do with anything we're talking about here? For hand boy!
"Few Arabs organized 911, and successfully executed the 75% of their plans. At the same time a nation with countless interceptors and military and bureaucratic personnel that takes millions to account for, could not take down a single highjacked plane. You believe it?" |

For over a hundred years, since modern science began to develop, people have thought that we understand everything pretty well while the science community in general has learned "the more we learn, the more we realize how much we don't know and don't understand". The human race is not as smart as it thinks it looks.

The human race is not as smart as it thinks it looks. Very true. The first time I heard such a statement was in a interview with George Lukas. Of course I watched it in on television. I wasn't there doing the interview. He actually mentioned this statement in different words but with the same meaning. |

You've got to be kidding. This is all for school dropouts. None of it makes any sense. Except, we simply do not have any evidence that Aliens were or were not on earth, and that humans did coexist with dinosaurs or did not. You should have included this question: Few Arabs organized 911, and successfully executed the 75% of their plans. At the same time a nation with countless interceptors and military and bureaucratic personnel that takes millions to account for, could not take down a single highjacked plane. You believe it? I think you must believe in ghosts, to be able to trust the Bush story. Did you know that 100 years to the day of 9/11 a similar tragedy happened on a ferry boat wich was very close to where the twins used to stand. If we compare the population loss by ratio. the ferry boat fire that killed every one on board was a much larger tradgedy. Those people were stranded for hours in fear while the boat burned away. why did'nt any one come and help them in all that time? I conclude that9/11 was a ritual sacrifice and that an evil force fed on ther fear. |

What makes him an authority on everything? ? ? * * * (Perhaps his own delusion or ignorance? ? ?) * * * |

emotions in plants I don't believe in emotions in plants but sometimes I feel guilty for destroying something that I know doesn't have emotions or feelings. I once had a Furby. It annoyed the hell out of me; it wouldn't shut up. So I covered it up with a blanket and it started snoring. In a fit of anger I removed it's batteries. Seeing it sit there inanimate and lifeless, I felt guilty and wondered if I had committed Furbycide. I decided to clear my conscience and give up for adoption to my little cousin. |

I visited haunted castles in England, Wales, and Scotland before. Now that was fun
oh and I visited the haunted house in Orlando, Walt Disney before also. Now that was fun also Perhaps there are some supernatural things in life that we can't explain for we have no information on it. Why not? I can understand skeptics for not believing in them. Their philosophy is if there is no proof then it doesn't exist. No questions asked at all. Then we have those who believe because they witnessed or felt them themselves. If they are delusional, using great amounts of imagination, superstitious, or just plain crazy well that is something each individual can judge for themselves. Perhaps they do happen and there actually is no way of explanation possible. At least not at the moment. |
