I Thought of You

I thought of you today and I cried
Tears that I thought were long since dried
They fell like raindrops down my face
Coming from somewhere deep inside, that hidden place

My eyes leaked with profound regret
I tried to forget you but no luck just yet
You are always in the back of my mind
So no peace today do I find

Memories stretch like a long ribbon made of rubber
Wrapping around my thoughts as I think of you and no other
I thought I wouldn’t think of you if you weren’t around
But I see that’s not the truth as I have found

The bitter taste of the tears I’ve wept
Following me into dreams as I’ve slept
Missing you has turned into an everyday thing
My heart now lays broken, when it used to sing

I muddle around all day trying to find something to do
To take my mind off the fact that I miss you
The soundtrack of my life is about how much you are missed
Songs of love gone wrong and memories of being kissed

Thoughts of you today made my heart break
Thinking of the love we no longer make
Then the tears start down my face once more
Tracks of love lost and you gone from love’s shore

I can so relate to "I thought I wouldn’t think of you if you weren’t around" but, so not true because he had already become a part of my heart and Soul....so, in essence, these men will never be someone outside of ourselves, because they now live within.

I understand where you're coming from
