I've got 50 red apples so I'm looking for the best apple pie recipe If you think you know the best recipe please post it

1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon 6 medium baking apples peeled and sliced 1 pie crust (9 inch) unbaked 1/2 cup butter melted 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup flour InstructionsMix 1/2 cup sugar, 2 Tbsp flour, and the cinnamon together and toss with apples. Heap into the pie shell. Combine butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup flour to make a thin paste. Spread paste over apples, coating evenly. Place pie in a brown paper bag and close securely with paper clips or staples. Place pie in center of the oven rack, taking care that the paper bag does not come in contact with any interior oven surface. Bake in pre-heated 400 degree oven for 1 hour. when pie is done, cut away the bag. Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 335 Calories; 18g Fat (46.8% calories from fat); 2g Protein; 43g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 31mg Cholesterol; 263mg Sodium. mmmmm that sounds sooooo good. If you have a farmers market or a fresh market where you live... They usually sell apple crisp kits and other kits for apples.
I'm getting sooooo hungry for an apple. I think I've got one left in the fridge and I intend to eat it today |

I've got a few questions. Most recipes call for baking apples like Granny Smith so they stay firm. Are red apples (Red Delicious I guess) going to be too mushy? Does the crust brown inside the bag? or do you have to take the bag away for awhile? Did you sprinkle sugar on the crust?
