usually...I am pretty sympathetic when others are in pain unless they brought it on themselves

When you know or see someone with a broken heart can you feel their pain? It depends on what the cause of the broken heart is. Some things (for instance, such as being widowed -- my apologies to whom this applies to, I was simply using this as a suggestion) simply cannot be felt in the same way by someone who has not experienced it themselves. It actually is a difference between sympathy and empathy. |
