I don't see how her telling you they were out of side salads is bad service. It's bad for the restaurant to be out of their usual menu, but it's not bad service. If you had only talked to her or the manager and asked why the other table got salads and you did not, there might have been an explanation.
JMO, but jumping the chain of command is rather presumptuous and could get an employee in trouble even if they don't deserve it. If she couldn't give you a plausible answer, then it's time to take it to the manager. |

how odd...did u ask her how come those people over thataway got salads?? well, lettuce see how they will handle it very cute Bastet... I don't know Prisoner I would have asked her and enjoyed watching her squirm... As I'm typing this could there been a difference in the lettuce and what you wanted let's say iceburg they didn't have and the others were eating romaine? Not likely just a thought... Maybe next time a place with a salad bar.. just sayin'... |

Dennys:------well, in 1999; took my friend in for a breakfast one day, it was his birthday. We go in ,and sit at the front bar. As we are asked,"would you like to have a cup of coffee?" we said yes. (45 minutes go by--still no cup of coffee) she says, "we have to make fresh coffee for you all." (an hour goes by now, still no coffee) I can not believe we still have no coffee. So, I thought, maybe they are a little busy.(another 45 minutes go by now; she asks may I take your order?)Our reply; you told us, you all had to make fresh coffee for us--and we still have no coffee. We are leaving now, and we have not been back since.

I can't believe a waitress in any resturant would refuse to give somebody a salad and that a manager would be unable or unwilling to resolve the problem. There must be another side of the story that we are not getting. There also seems to be some racial overtones in this complaint.

I have never personally had a problem with denny's and the service. However I did observe a problem when an african american family was seated well before me like 15 to 20 minutes. Finally I got seated by the hostess and as soon as my ass hit the chair the waitress was up to take my order. I pointed out to the waitress that the family over there had been waiting longer, and if she could take their order first...

At least that deadbeat got herself a job. A lot of deadbeats think that being a waitress, working in a fast food shop, or even as a housekeeper in a hotel/motel is beneath them. Sure she screwed up, you did what you felt you needed to do. But that is life people make mistakes You didnt ask for an explanation and there could well be a reasonable one. I think you should stop being a wet lettuce and get over the salad, but if you wanna be a nasty scumbag and get her fired over it, thats your perogative. |

So you think that 'you' should have the right to get her fired b/c she didn't bring you a stinking salad.. In other words you think that 1) you're the almighty and if someone doesn't suit you they should be fired 2) you place the value of a salad over someone being able to support themselves and their family.. I'll tell you what corporate will do... They won't fire her b/c there's no good reason.. They will ask her what happened and she will deny it or tell the truth and in the end she will keep her job... I'd put money on the fact that there is a decent explanation especially with knowledge or lack there of from the posts. The most she will get is a warning and probably verbal rather than written.. I didn't look at your state but some states like mine are so strick they're very careful with how an employee is treated... My personal opinion is I handle and issue myself head on, if I can't resolve it that way then I go higher up and continue till it's resolved in a manner that I feel appropriate... But I have too much going on in my life to go over board on not getting a salad so I'd probably just not go to that restaurant anymore and tell my friends.... Getting someone fired is serious karma and I don't want on my shoulders someone losing everything b/c I was a b*tch over a salad.. jmo... ps- did you do anything to her to upset her or offend her BEFORE you ordered the salad? |
