You guys spawned Benny Hill. We got stuck with Henny Youngman. I personally think Benny Hill is quite unfunny. You can have him. |

You bloaks have an uncanny talent for making a scathing insult sound like a compliment until we slow Americans can catch up.
...but we have "Yo Mamma" jokes. |

My vote is for the vernacular, the subtle differences in the language. sometimes it makes for great communication problems. Waddaya mean my baggage is in the boot? I didn't toss anything and stop calling me lary ... There are a lot of difference in the way we speak. I can understand you guys almost perfectly, even the words that we would never use, but i have had many a circumstance when i have said something and the person i am talking to has no clue what i am saying. |

Maybe Americans are more gesticular (pretty sure that's a word) and are better at conveying meaning through hand movements and grimaces. |

Most hand gestures i received from americans happened when they thought i wasnt looking! |

I cannae eat haggis, but i love the neeps and tatties! why? not even extra spicy haggis? Actually, i have never tried it. Its the thought of what it is that puts me off. I spend about a quarter of my life or thereabouts in Scotland these days so i guess i should have given it a go by now. It'll take a drunken night for me to try it. |
