Abracadbra..I pose the same question to you too....do you believe God exsists? Well, that's a rather ill-defined word is it not? You'd have to define what you mean by "God". I believe in honesty. And therefore to be perfectly honest I have no clue what's going on. So utlimately this defines me as an agnostic. However, even that word is ill-defined. What does it mean to be agnostic? Agnostic with respect to what? Am I agnostic to a belief in Zeus? No. I'm, convinced that Zeus has about as much credibility as Humpty Dumpty. Both are entirely made up fairytales. Am I agnostic to a believe in the God of Abraham? No. I'm convinced that the God of Abraham is as false as the God Zeus. So with respect to some specific religous definitions of "God" I suppose you could call me a firm atheist. Do I believe in Jesus? Yes. Do I believe that Jesus was 'God'? Well, maybe. Again that depends on how you define 'God'. According the the writings about Jesus, even Jesus himself said that we are 'Gods'. So that broadens the definition of 'God' quite a bit does it not? When it comes down to an idea of an external seperate egotistical "Intervening Godhead", I remain extremely skeptical. I simply haven't seen any evidence that supports the existence of an "Intervening" surpreme being. Now, if you want to move forward to a different question, ssy, "Do I believe in spirituality", that's opens up a whole different field of concepts. Again, I remain agnostic. I confess the TRUTH. And I confess this TRUTH to myself, to any surpreme being that might exist, and to all of humanity,... I Don't KNOW! It's possible that we are ultimately spiritual beings. And it's possible that we're not. That doesn't help much does it? However, even if we are spiritual beings (which simply means that we will continue to exist after we die, and probably also existed prior to being born), this still doesn't automatically imply that we should be able to do magick tricks whilst in this incarnation! Maybe we forfieted any "supernatural powers" to play in this incarnation. Maybe that's the cost of the "ticket" to come here and play? I'm open to anything. But only if it makes sense. One thing that makes absolutely no sense to me at all, would be a 'god' that plays hide and seek and feels that it's somehow important that we believe that 'god' exists. Why should that be important? Especially when no credible source has ever even asked us to believe in any such thing? The only people who have asked us to believe these things have been the writers of utterly absurd fairytales of the nature of Zeus, or the the God of Abraham, both of which were jealous God who were appeased by blood sacrifices and had more human failings that most humans. It seems to me that if an intervening "godhead" exists it wouldn't be playing such stupid egotistical games with its human pets. I mean, such a god would have lesser morals than myself. I find it difficult to believe that my creator is less moral than myself. I actually have very strong reasons to believe that no such egotistical 'godhead' exists, but I also have reason to believe that some kind of spirituality does exist. So I'm perfectly agnostic. Also, to claim to be anything else would be dishonest. Therefore to even believe in some ficticious 'godhead' would be a dishonest act on my part. To "believe" in a god on pure faith would be to live a lie. I don't believe that any God would require that his/her/its creation to live life based on a lie. Confessing that we truly don't know seems far more truthful to me. :bigsmile" Surely if there is some divine being that being would want us to be TRUTHFUL. So agnosticism is the only truthful way to go until we have serious reason to believe otherwise. That's my view. I can give you a beautiful Buddhist parable about this, but unfortunately I don't feel like typing it in right now. |

WOW..ask a question and get an answer eh?Actually..It is none of my business if you believe or not..I was just trying to make a point that there is something magical going on here in life.Alot of which we can not explain..so why not ponder that things unheard of can exisit.Even if you believe in Jesus..how do you know he did what he did?We don't...we listen to what people tell us he did.I'm saying..stop listening to people and listen to ourselves...the truth lies within us..always has and alaways will.
Thank you for taking the time to write all that...it was truly intresting. |

You miss the whole point. I never expected to change the weather. I took action via, thought, intent, and belief, that I could protect my plants FROM the weather. I was never attempting to change the weather at any point! Based on the Law of Attraction, my positive thoughts, intent, and actions to protect my plants, and my BELIEVE that the plants were indeed PROTECTED is what should have become MANIFEST according to you if there were any truth to the Law of Attraction. Your core belief was that your plants were in danger of being destroyed by the frost. Your actions prove that this was your belief. If you had no fear that your plants were in danger, you would not have rushed around trying to protect your plants. You HOPED you could protect them. You tried to protect them. You failed to protect them. That you were "shocked" you did not protect them is questionable. You seem to be saying that you are practicing the "Law of Attraction" and it "just does not work." That too is your belief. When a person believes a thing, the subconscious (universe) will always manifest evidence to support that belief. You do not believe in the Law of Attraction so why do you claim to be trying to practice it? Have you read the book "Ask and it is Given yet? I will answer that for you. No. Its obvious. |
|
|

If you don't like attracting people who question your views or ask for proof, then why are you attracting such people?
Do you not yet know how to use this "Law of Attraction"? spock If you can't even wield its power, then how can you be so sure any such law exists? To answer this question, I still love a good challenging discussion or debate. I actually learn a lot from it. I am approaching a point where I will no longer engage in such meaningless mind poison, but for now, its still educational for me. Yes it is mind poison when you imply that because I believe differently than you I am either unreasonable, delusional, or insane and that I need to be on medication. |

I was just trying to make a point that there is something magical going on here in life. Alot of which we can not explain..so why not ponder that things unheard of can exisit. I agree. The very fact that the universe exists is magical. I also agree that there is a lot we cannot explain, and I do ponder these possiblities. But this doesn't automatically make every lame claim true. When discussing the so-called "Law of Attraction" with Jeannie, I simply try to get at what's reasonable and what isn't. I mean, one minute she claims that our thoughts, intents, actions, and beliefs supposedly become manifest as our reality. So I point out that my thoughts, intents, actions, and beliefs don't seem to becoming manifest as my reality. Then she tells me I shouldn't believe weather reports? Before I can believe something I need to first make some sense of it. That's all I'm saying. Even if you believe in Jesus..how do you know he did what he did? We don't...we listen to what people tell us he did. I'm saying..stop listening to people and listen to ourselves...the truth lies within us..always has and always will. Well, I have to give you that one. I was wrong to say that I believe 'in' Jesus. What I actually meant was that I believe some guy named Jesus actually existed, denounced the Old Testament, was nailed to a pole for it, and then a bunch of hearsay rumors were written about him later that probably contain a tad of truth and a whole lot of baloney. What I meant was that I believe he existed as a human. I never meant to imply that I believe everything that was written about him. Thank you for taking the time to write all that...it was truly intresting. You're quite welcome. |

Your core belief was that your plants were in danger of being destroyed by the frost. Your actions prove that this was your belief. Oh please! My CORE belief was that I was taking CARE of my plant! What are you suggesting? That farmers should just ignore any efforts to take care of their plants? Please, give me a break! You do not believe in the Law of Attraction so why do you claim to be trying to practice it? Practicing it? I thought you were claiming that this is some sort of LAW of the universe? Why would anyone need to practice it? Are you now suggesting that it's some sort of religion? Moreover, what are claiming now? That to practice the Law of Attraction we should just off our radios and TV's and just blissfully belief that everything will turn out jsut perfect? What happened with all the purposeful THOUGHT, INTENT, and ACTION? Has the Law of Attraction recently been reduced to BELIEF only now? |
|

Then she tells me I shouldn't believe weather reports?
No, you can believe whatever you want, including that the Law of Attraction "does not work" for you, or is a bunch of B.S. I never believe weather reports to be accurate. They usually have a 50% chance of being accurate, even with all the sophisticated scientific equipment they have it is still a hit and miss on weather reports. Just suppose we did live in a dream-like reality where collective thoughts did effect the weather. If thousands of people believed a weather report, that is thousands of visualizations impressing upon the "thinking stuff" to manifest exactly that! You believed the weather report. Many other people did too. You also believe that frost can damage plants. Many other people do too. I would be willing to bet the report may have even made the suggestion that people should take steps to protect their plants that night. (I have heard that sort of thing on television many times.) That is a lot of thought and belief in favor of the frost and the destruction of plants. I don't think a single forced thought resisting a belief that strong is going to be very effective against those odds. And no one can be 100% positive that they will succeed. But if that is what you believe I will concede that the Law of Attraction does not work for you. You may as well just throw in the towel and accept your fate. |

What happened with all the purposeful THOUGHT, INTENT, and ACTION? Has the Law of Attraction recently been reduced to BELIEF only now? The law of attraction is the universal law of creativity. It is at work all the time whether you practice it consciously or not. "Practicing" it consciously is what is called "living on purpose" or some people call it "living deliberately." Living deliberately is simply becoming aware of what and how you are creating and/or attracting the things in your experience. You are either doing it unconsciously or consciously. It is about becoming conscious, not only about what you are doing, but how you are doing it, what you are thinking, and what you are feeling and what effect it is causing in your personal reality. |

But if that is what you believe I will concede that the Law of Attraction does not work for you. So then you concede that it's not a Law of the universe? If it were a law of the universe it would need to work for everyone. In fact, in the past you even said that everyone is using the law of attraction whether they know it or not. But now you concede that is doesn't work for me? Gee, I must be truly special, the LAWS of the UNIVERSE don't apply to me! I think this just verifies my earlier post that you are talking about Philosophy¹ and not about Philosophy². Philosophy¹ - A mindset by which to live one's life. Philosophy² - A rational exploration of the possible actuality of existence. |

The only thing I can think about when concerning the laws of attraction is that perhaps we at one time had the ability to use additional senses we have forgotten.
I know this sounds crazy, but think about it. When a animal can sense you are frightened even though you are not showing it then how can this be explained. How can a animal know you are scared or peaceful if you are just standing there doing nothing? Unless they are experts in recognizing body composures or something? Now if we did have such a sense maybe in the ice age for survival purposes then I can imagine this is what the laws of attraction is all about. Could these senses or vibrations if you will that somehow animals can detect that are invisible for us to see? Now concerning shifting time and effort in a way that you get what you like is something that seems hard to do or believe. I just sit there and think hard I want a million dollars and work my ass off in trying to get it, but don't achieve then it would be wrong to be accussed of not using the laws of attraction right. I mean my goodness I did try and really thought I will make that kind of money! I mean the same goes for a man who lives in Trinidad and Tobago where he lives a simple life in a old house with limited availability to work, have entrepeneaur availiability, or even access to things we take for granted here in the states. He can do all the good in the world to try to get rich, but he won't get it for he doesn't have the access or probablity in doing so. So yes maybe this sixth or seventh sense that I keep going back to as an ability that we may have had has been lost due to how we have used more of our brain to create technology to help achieve our goals lessening or eliminating these senses we once needed to survive. Otherwise the law of attraction has to be nothing more then emotional intelligence. These are people who are street wise from experience and can recognize many different alternatives to adapt to societies to get positive results (positive energy) at the end. Now of course it could be possible that what I wrote is nothing more then crap because we humans perhaps never had a sixth sense in the first place. Otherwise the laws of attraction is like a faith based initiutive of believing you can achieve goals with positive thinking. It would be highly interesting if we can discover if we at one time had such abilities and if we can use them if we knew the way today. |

But if that is what you believe I will concede that the Law of Attraction does not work for you. So then you concede that it's not a Law of the universe? Of course not. If it were a law of the universe it would need to work for everyone. It does work for everyone and everything via the unconscious, but you cannot make it work the way you want it to -- unless you know how it works and are using it consciously. YOU DON'T. So in that respect, it does not work for you as a conscious practice. It does work for you unconsciously. You just don't understand how. In fact, in the past you even said that everyone is using the law of attraction whether they know it or not. correct. But now you concede that is doesn't work for me? Yep. ....Because that is what you want to believe. So you can have that belief. I find it futile and pointless to try to convince you otherwise or to argue with you about it. It is your belief, so keep it. You cannot make the law of attraction work for you. Not because it does not exist or because it does not work, but because that is what you believe about it. |

It is the ability to sense a predator. I think we talked about "emotional intelligence" before. It is not the same thing as the sixth sense or the Law of Attraction. It is something else entirely. I am not sure if I have read much about it or even heard that term before you mentioned it. |

So the law of attraction you mention is about energy. A positive energy and a negative energy that we can sense or even extract into our lives. If our mind is positive as soon as you wake up and your mind is set on goals that are positive then your probability is most likely higher that you will achieve a positive experience. You mention we can control this each day to the point that we can have anything we like and even achieve great things in life. So perhaps this is the sixth or even seventh sense we are talking about. A animal can feel energy in a person to sense he or she is frightened. We can hone energy for everything is energy afterall isn't it. So if the laws of attraction works then only few actually know how for they know how to hone energitic waves to allow such results. It is bizzare contemplation on my thought. Perhaps a little to much imagination for my taste in the end. I better just stick to my fantasy writings and not let it get to me |

We currently know we have five senses. These are physical senses. Sight, touch, hearing, smell, and taste. The sixth sense is also a physical sense. It is like a radar that senses the danger of a predator. I am unclear what you mean by the idea of "positive and negative" energy. (There are positive and negative electrical charges but energy is just energy. Vibration is just vibration. The law of attraction is more about vibration and movement. Perhaps vibration and movement is energy. Energy of life. |

(There are positive and negative electrical charges but energy is just energy. Vibration is just vibration. The law of attraction is more about vibration and movement. Perhaps vibration and movement is energy. Energy of life. Well yes I know of the five senses, but what about the nonphysical senses that bring up so much commotion even with religious followers. This faith of talking to a higher being for example sounds like nonsense for a atheist right, but who are we to say they are wrong just because there is not evidence showing us. Sometimes these events that are happening yet with no explanation can truly keep a mind busy and the reason why people question it so much. It is no different then the laws of attraction. What I explained above is what the dvd "The Secret" is explaining to us. If you wake up with positive attitude with goals that are positive your likelyhood of such happening is greater then believing otherwise. So a person who always has positive results in life and is successful continously and has pretty much attained through experience emotional intelligence, some knowledge of life with people, great communication skills, and probably a better approach to each day he or she lives then the laws of attraction works. but let us twist this and see how we can look at the laws of attraction differntly. Many truly fascinate themselves with this divine philosophy or faith, yet are confused why such a phenomenon doesn't work for everybody althought they claim they are trying. So perhaps another way of looking at this is the possibility that we as a people have more then just the sixth senses that we both agree on. Perhaps this (seventh sense) yes maybe it was never mentioned anywhere but who is to say it doesn't exist? Remember it is just a idealogy. Perhaps everyone at one time had such an ability to communicate with spiritual forms by seing them as vibrations or energy so to say. Yes souls that look like energy waves in a ghostly form. Sounds crazy I know. Probably a starting of a sci fi book here if anything. lol but what I am trying to get at is maybe a few truly have the ability to sense fear and peace, and maybe even see spirituality as a energy or vibration source of positive or negative charge so to say. Anyway the laws of attraction primarily teaches about positive thoughts and negative thoughts. In the dvd "The Secret" they go as far as saying positive energy and negative energy we can hone ourselves to bring better results for the day. You use vibrations others use energy. So if our bodies or minds have such a function as the seventh sense is something to ponder about in the end. Perhaps the seventh sense is the law of attraction that only few can use and understand? The reason why the subject stays alive in the first place. |

Look people... Let me end this real quick ok? Thought does not manifest matter? Why? Matter came first!!! Done! Have a nice day... Please, don't corrupt this thread with intelligent thoughts! It's all about BELIEF now. Thoughts are no longer important! Reality isn't manifest by thoughts. Jeanniebean has just established this. It's all about belief now. |

Oh come on guys this is about using your imagination and changing other possiblities of what the laws of attraction could be!
I am sure there are things that happen without explanation! Let your creative side explode and think of the possiblities. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create. - Albert Einstein |

The reason why the subject stays alive in the first place. I don't know how to respond to that "perhaps." I have never seen the film "The Secret." (I think I saw a small clip of it --and if that was the whole thing I was not all that impressed.) What you seem to be doing is just looking for another name to call "the law of attraction." It does not matter (to me) what anyone calls it. Seeing ghosts and talking to spirits... I think that gets into the astral plane, or another dimension of consciousness set at a different frequency than physical. But I think the six senses are all natural physical senses. |
