How any remember, or have read financial history, know that the richest period in American history was right after WW2 when we were the largest importer of raw materials and the largest exporter of manufactured goods? People could afford to buy new homes, new cars, etc. Anyone working could.

Since our countries changeover to being slick financiers and not manufacturers, we have what we have now....financial meltdown. It was only a matter of time. If we do not build anything and we sell raw materials for others to make into goods that we buy back..how is that good? How is a global economy good? Especially when major players like China value thier money on thier own vauation system? How is giving jobs to other countries to do FOR us good? Are you blind to the condition that we are in right NOW?

It a nutshell, you're right. It is best to keep the jobs.

The question, however, is in how you are going to do it.

- You can simply prohibit jobs from going away, by installing protectionist measures, there is a whole bunch of those, take your pick, import tariffs, for instance.

- Or, you can keep the jobs here by right. This is when even though you allow the jobs to go away, they still stay with you.

These two cases have the same difference as in a situation when you decide how you're going to keep the title of a champion, by cheating or by right.

The communists would have you believe that China is cheating. Therefore we must as well. Not true. You can believe it, if you wish, but you will not reach the true bottom of this well this way.

Think of it this way: It is good to keep a good woman around.
