Who friggin' cares. We've got a great many people who are losing their jobs in droves... homes are foreclosing at abnormally-high rates... banks and credit companies are pocketing TARP stimulus money that was SUPPOSED to be used to get people credit... and they have to bring up some nonsense brought up at a lame-o beauty pageant?

My point is this- gay people are American citizens, right? If that's the case, then that would mean that they're legally able to enjoy all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities as us non-gay folk enjoy as well. And that should include the right to marry, as it's just a financial contract between two people done under guise of a "religious event".

Oh Hell's Bell's moofooga...let's not play the gay card any more and just ban marriage all together! Been there done that and it was not a pleasant adventure. rofl

The bottom line that uh..GUY asked HER the question and she gave HER thoughts on it. That should have been the end of it. She is entitled to her opinion. If he wasn't prepared for the answer, he shouldn't have asked the question!

She chose to not compromise her moral beliefs in order to get ahead in a stupid pageant. Must have been tough, working so hard to make it that far and then decide between giving a 'socially correct' response (especially coming from Miss California) or sticking to her values.

Good for her!

how can women even support such a thing as a beauty pagent? forget about the question for a minute. beauty pagents are just ways to objectify women with questions and talent thrown in so that it's not just a wet t-shirt competition.
do you see one woman on any of those pagents that looks like an average woman. no, they all look like barbie dolls.
women constantly chastise us men for objectifying them but no one wants to address the fact that it's going on within your ranks as well. kids are joining beauty pagents at early ages. parents are teaching their kids that it's better to be pretty than not.

is it good that she spoke her mind? yes. is it good that she's not open minded and doesn't feel that people should be treated equally? no. is she partaking in an archaic display of how shallow we are as a country, as a world in the case of the miss universe competition? yes.

yea! one more brain dead bimbo out there getting more recognition than she deserves just because she's pretty.

the beauty contest question set her up, if it was asked by every woman there, more would of said the same thing, some one wanted her OUT, as to not agree with gay marriage is not politically correct in this country, at this time in our history.

it can be the opinion of many she was short sided and narrow minded,
it is also the opinion of many she was living the life she was taught, and to tell the truth, and that the gay life style is not moral and marriage is religious based, so why would they need to be married if they are not following the covenant and grace that marriage is all about?.

either way, i commend her, for telling the truth.
But, she was most definitely set up..

even the california governor, has stopped alot of gay progress in that state, because unlike the glorified media, most californian's do not believe in it either, and they are the one's keeping him in office by voting for him,

but the common man/woman do not have the clout or the Hollywood spokes people, to shove there political correctness down people's throat, so it will continue, and i think will succeed down the line.

but not today...

if you tell a child something is okay all their lives, they will believe it is okay when they become an adult.

if the children in the last two generations has been told it is okay for gay marriage through media,( t.v., movies, magazines, radio talk shows, music) sources, teachers, friends, ect, when their parents and grand parents die.. they will vote it in.. as believing it is okay...
change has always been this way through out history...

i felt bad for her, in that she was set up, not her choice to tell the truth... i wonder if you could tell the truth about other issues you think is okay, if put on the spot, or would you go all politically correct? hmmmm?

I wonder why you believe she was set up if the other cotestants were asked the same question? And not her choice to "tell the truth?" Of course it was her choice, no one held a gun to her head, she could easily have fudged her answer or outright lied about her beliefs. And, to split hairs here, that is HER (and your?) truth but it is not THE truth. There are many people who believe that it is not our place, or the government's place, to judge and we believe that as people and citizens of this country, they are entitled to the same rights, privileges and responsibilities as the rest. God made us all and he made us all different for a reason. It may not be a reason we understand. Perhaps it's to teach us love and acceptance? If there was a little more of that in this world, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in.

I personally would have given her a medal if I could for not buying into the liberal, politically correct BS that seems to have overtaken society.

We should nuke California...but get her out first!

I didn't see it, so I can only piece it together from what ya'll are saying. I think that the rules that one person makes for him or herself to live by should not be forced on other people, as long as what they are doing doesn't cause harm. If what they are doing is causing harm to someone else, then intervention is appropriate. Beyond that, I'll keep my own counsel.
