ya know i thought haveing her would make me quit but i just thought if i smoked outside then she wouldbe allright and i wouldnt have to worry about it. so i found a way around quitting again. theres always some reason you would think hey this is really ****in with my health i should stop but...no... its crazy.

Now this is going to sound very strange but it works as a last resort. Every time before you light up, lick a stick of butter, then take a drag. It's not a good combination but the effect you're going for is convincing yourself cigarettes are disgusting. You will still have withdrawls, but eventually you view smoking as nasty.

Go to a rest home, and ask to talk with someone that has had their voicebox removed due to smoking.

My husband thought this too with both of our baby girls. He eventually began smoking around them and they hate the smell and have very bad sinus problems. He passes away in July and the funny thing is that NOBODY smokes in my house and they smell his cig. smoke when they step out of the shower.

Here is what worked for me:

I quit "cold turkey", by making a vow/promise to myself. I told myself, that if I put another cigarette between my lips, and lit up...it would be my agreement to take either one of my X's back!

Each time I attempted to light up...I would think of my promise!!!! It made it a hell of a lot easier to put them(cigarette)down, one at a time...and eventually it got easier, and easier! I have been smoke-free for 11 years now. Good luck in your endeavor.

for others to smell his cig smoke. just tells you that he has not really gone, hes around you in spirit and watching over you as he had before

i quit cold turkey about 15 or yrs ago. and had no problem. .i smoked off and on sense i was about 16yrs old... when i was pg with my son, my doc had me quit for i was having some health issue. and when friends would come over the smell of smoke made me gag. i couldnt tolerate it... after my son was born i started smoking again but it was the same before i wasent a heavy smoker... i dont miss it...

i have a friend who took something rx'd as well.. not sure it was chantix though

it blocked the receptors in her brain from the nicotine and no matter what she did... the addiction was unsatisfiable until it was gone.

she smoked for 28 years.

and now... smoke free. :)

I have been told this. We also have a new dog that wasn't around when my husband was alive and she will look at my girls (around them) sometimes and just stare or growl. She senses something is there. It scares the girls. The puppy is only 3 months old. I told them that it is their dad watching over them.

animals see and feel spirits more than we do at times. and so the dog is also trying to protect..

I tell the girls to introduce Lily (the dog) to their dad and tell the dog how good of a man he was. He loved you and would have loved that little puppy.

Try a rubber band around your wrist, every time you have a craving, 'gently' snap the rubber band.
