How do you think the situation of the Somali pirates be handles, or taken care of?

Personally...I think we/anybody should not put up with their sh*t! Sounds like a "bully on the playgrounds"! Hell, just whip their asses!! This is JMO!

Oh...OK...it's my understanding that the waters that they are attacking in, is "open waters"(sea, ocean). It's so far out into the water...that they use a larger(mother ship)to carry smaller boats that are used to attack the ships.

To me it would be the same(or as close as)if you were going down the road in your vehicle, then stop at a red light(or stop sign), and someone forced their way into your vehicle, and took it over...and held it(and you)for ransom. Just don't seem right to me...and I feel as if it should be stopped in some way. again...JMO

I used to live in the Philippines so I know there are pirates...my next question about the pirates in Somalia is (someone posted it before) that they were "hired" because other countries are dumping waste. so why shouldn't Somalia try to stop it? i imagine if other countries were doing that to us, we would stop it too.

But surely...the pirates are not a part of the Somali government or any oil control. I may be wrong...but ????

IMO....for whatever reason the pirates came into being there...i THINK it originally started as a "police" type thing but the pirates became greedy etc. but like I said...I don't know much about this subject on there pirates. in other words...i'm babbling...don't listen to me

Its simple. We deal with them the way countries have always dealt with pirates.

Th waste could be cleaned up. Destruction of their fishing grounds can't be fixed. They got no fish, what they gonna' do. The world could give aide, as in food and meds. but, I think getting the oil is a higher priority.

The attitude seems to be, the whole of Somalia are pirates. Why invade a whole country just to deal with a couple wanna' be pirates?
