i've been there for a visit and i must say that it was very pretty. it was also warm and humid, but that doesn't bother me much. the beach was beautiful. can't say much else about it.

Cost of living is low unless you live on the strip. And spend your allowance in the stripjoints. East of clearwater is very inexpensive. But those stoplights during the summer season events are brutal. Gas is comparable. Impossible during those wonderful hurricane seasons. Its humid year round. Jobs- the economy is what it is.

Tampa and the fort are tight. Because of the last hurricane disaster and the economy houses are cheap and for sale everywhere. Financing and insurance are impossible. Cost of living is high getting higher due to freight rates below Interstate 10 and truckers refusing to go down there because of piracy and theft. Tampa is nice. Quite a diverse mix of people. From snowbirds and bluehair retirees to business execs doing business to locals born and bred there.
