Topic: I think I found my purpose in life! | |
---|---|
I have come to the conclusion that my purpose in life is to be lost, confused, and out of place. I don't know, maybe I really don't want to know why I'm here. Maybe it's not here that I'm supposed to be.
Do you think anyone know why they're here? If you atleast feel like you do, does that make you happier? |

Don't know, don't care, don't spend any time thinking about it.

My own philosophy: There is no reason for our being here, no purpose in life, other than that which we ourselves ascribe to it.

I know why I'm here. To serve God by loving others.

Don't know, don't care, don't spend any time thinking about it. I wish I had that ability. |

Your purpose is to find your purpose, since life is meaningless, you are supposed to find meaning for your life.

Most of us will never know our purpose.
We just know we have one, whatever it shall be. But I agree with OP |

My own philosophy: There is no reason for our being here, no purpose in life, other than that which we ourselves ascribe to it. I kinda feel that way, but I also kinda feel there has to be a purpose, maybe I just don't want to admit I really have no purpose. |

I know why I'm here. To serve God by loving others. I do serve God, I know that's atleast one reason I continue on my journey, but I have a feeling there's something I need to know that God is not telling me. |

My problem with the whole "external purpose" concept is this: If we have an actual purpose OTHER than something self-determined, then that requires someone/something else to be making the decisions as to what the real purpose is, and that gets a little too close to being "religion" for me. I have seen nothing that indicates any metaphysical determinant. |

I have seen nothing that indicates any metaphysical determinant. Some people seem to have to have some kind of purpose. They cannot accept the fact that there might actually be no real purpose to their being. I think this is where religion fits in for many, as it gives them a purpose, albeit most probably only in their own minds. |

My purpose is in my own mind, too -- I just don't need to pretend there's some sort of middleman in the mix to justify it for me. |
