I am 20 at the moment, and holding over a 3.0 GPA, but my insurace is about 800 for 6 months. This was with online quotes. The car i am looking for is a Chevy caviler. Is this normal for my situation, you think?

Kinda sounds like it. Young drivers will often have to bend over and take it when it comes to auto insurance, as accident statistics for them aren't good. As a result, you'll almost certainly pay through the nose for insurance, no matter how "basic" that insurance is.
However- if you show that you're a safe driver after around three years, you might start to see some lowered rates. |

Sweet, i get to play insurance rape!!! woo hoo! Try being the parent of a 23 and 17 year old driver whom you insure in addition to yourself...rape just isn't an ugly enough word! |

I was there...I guess that's why I'm willing to take it for my kiddos until they get out of college. You get to do the grown-up thing for long enough as it is. I'm lucky to have been able to do that for them thus far - and they understand and appreciate it, so I guess that makes it less trouble, as well. If they were little "sh*t@" I might have to reconsider! |

Im not complaining. If anything it builds character, and pride in what i do. Its a feeling of accomplishment knowing that I am working hard through college both work and finical , and if i can do that, what else can i do
