op, you just wanted to get it out of your system....but are unwilling to do anything about it.....this "non" action speaks volumes

I agree. If all you are going to do is rant about the problem and not do anything about it, doesn't that make you part of the problem as well?

I don't think we should be attacking her. This is a very confusing situation for any person. She has no direct evidence that he's abusing his child (though, of course, with the dog she does). She has to live next door to this man, who obviously has some anger management issues. I'm not saying she shouldn't get involved (and maybe she has by now) of course she should. But, I don't think we should assume she's just going to look the other way, either.

no one is attacking.

she was not soliciting advice on how to handle it...she was venting...so the assumption of her NOT doing anything is based on the contents(or lack there of) of her post

I woulda done grabbed the dog and taken him away from that, and prob beat the guy with the shoe.

expecially pittbulls I love them, and had 3 who were put to sleep because 2 people broke in,and they put em in the hospital.

pittbulls are the most loveable dogs you can have, but very protective, but it is all in how you treat them and raising them.

and if there is a child there, and he is abusing his dog,no telling what else he is doing, that truly needs to be turned into the police

Amber,

I run a shelter for abused children and everything you are describing is a major red flag! Good for you for making the call. This child may not have a voice, nor the puppy. As an adult who has witnessed his behavior(s), you have just taken a giant step towards being a voice for this child.

Calls come in and are anonymous - meaning you are protected against retribution from this man.

Good job and thank you. One less child (or animal) being abused is a wonderful thing. Thank you. flowerforyou

I agree with Meg -- any low life who would hurt an animal, especially a puppy, would have no regard for a child.

U go gurl!! Don't u dare feel a bit of guilt about it neither. Even if it turned out to be nuthing, better to be sure than to have the child become yet another static.shades

damn straight!!!!!!!

actually my therapist and i were talking about justified guilt and unjustified guilt........

normally i would have felt bad about doing this, but i didn't contribute or start the problem.....i'm relieved that something will be done about it now that the proper authorities are notified

I'll tell u like I told every person whoever called into CPS while I worked there, never ever feel guilty for makin the call. It's better that it were a waste of time investigatin abuse that didn't exist than usin time to investigate a death. shades

any dog can turn. its how you raise them. Pitbulls are not inherantly bad dogs. if you get one of a good blood line that does not have alot of inbreeding they can be the sweetest dogs you ever met.

Exactly! By turning him in you gave his dog a chance to be that sweet dog.

Nice job!
